There is a new Cloverfield Video contest, titled When Cloverfield Hit, with the following theme "Where were you when the monster hit?". The grand prize winner will be selected by Matt Reeves from the top 3 user-voted videos, and the winner gets $4500 and a Paramount DVD prize pack.
There are some music and monster roar clips on the site that can be used in you video, but no other music can be used. See the official rules for full details. Good luck!
UPDATE: Eagle eye viewers have noticed a hidden Dharma logo in the video above. Nice work people!

ReplyDeletePause the video just as the monster's foot connects with the tank. Poof! Notice anything? The Dharma Initiative Logo from Lost!!! It pops up only a frame or two so be ready with the pause button, it appears in the lower right-hand corner.
Sorry for two posts in a short period of time, but I noticed Hud says "Did you guys just see that?" right after the Logo pops up. I guess he didn't mean the monster...

The Dharma Initiative Logo... again...? Man, how weird. How weird to also put in a DVD Trailer. I mean... to put it in the film is a nice easter egg, but to put one in a DVD Trailer. Could it be that Lost and Cloverfield after all ARE somehow connected? I still like to believe they are not, but... this is strange.
The logo was not in the film right? I mean in the original 'monster stands on tank' scene?
Im a little bit confused myself on what they want here. When the monster hit, I was in the theatre watching it! What are some ideas? We can all brainstorm together!!

basicly what they want is a 5minuet mini cloverfield home vid
so just walk out side at night with a camera play the sound effect and run away, done. now for the other 4min 30 seconds is up to you

I think JJ is experimenting with us, and at the end all of our achievements could be worthy for the dump :)
