Fun And Pretty Things Update - Family Heirlooms
There is a new update on the FAPT website, The latest message from Howard mentions that Megan's mom is trying to sell the family silverware to "a random stranger".
Of course, the best place to find random strangers is on craigslist, and Melodyman from unfiction found a listing matching the description above. Notice the notebook in the corner with Megan's name written on it!
Some people have tried emailing the seller to get more info, but no responses so far...
Also, while there is no map specifically attached to the ad, if you filter the search results by "map", the location of the item is revealed to be at an apartment complex called "The Terraces of Dearborn Park" near downtown Chicago.
Maybe there is another dead drop? People are already on their way to look, so we'll know soon!
I really don't think Howard is a bad guy. Dudes had a pretty rough life. I think we can understand if he gets a little angry sometimes
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's a bad guy and only ARG followers will be given depth as to why.
ReplyDeleteI just stopped by the park next to the apartments but found nothing. I went into the building and asked the people in room 606 about a craigslist ad but they didn't have one. There's no room 660, and the building is generally secure, so anyone trying to get in without contacting the poster will be denied access. If anyone has other ideas I don't mind going back. Until then we'll just have to keep contacting the offer.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it just something to establish Howard as a character, as his ex wife keeps kicking him while he's already down. I know it seems like he's taking it as an intentional thing, but maybe his ex really is trying to get rid of every trace of Howard from her daughters life, as she sees him as crazy and delusional, and not a fit parent for their daughter. She wants for Howard to have nothing to do with Megan's life and selling the heirlooms that belonged to him is an attempt to erase Howard's presence
ReplyDeleteI think that location is default for Chicago. It's bogus.
ReplyDeleteI think the purpose for emailing her is to get a location. So you need to act like a legit buyer. Don't be too pushy. Get her to trust you first. Convince her you are ready to buy.
I'm new here and was just reading the letter about the silverware, I'm not sure if it's relevant but at the end he asks "when arey ou leaving" I don't know if the spacing was done on purpose or if it was actually a mistake but I'm in too deep now lol
ReplyDeleteEdit: reading earlier letters it looks like there is one slightly misspellt word in each letter? Could just be him being frantically typing but maybe not? Again newcomer so still learning
DeleteIn the listing it says it's a 60 piece set, for a service of 6, however there are 12 different pieces in the bottom slots (each with 6), 12 knives and 2 butter spreaders. 6x12+12+2=86, not 60. May not be important but just a thought.
ReplyDeleteYou might be on to something there. Who knows
Deletehas anyone thought to connect the misplaced letters in each message together to see if they say anything?
ReplyDeleteI've been compiling them and so far nothing. I've been listing them in columns, "missing punctuation" and "incorrect spelling".
DeleteSilverware craigslist ad:
ReplyDeletename/model # Sheffield, England
when you follow the location on craigslist: Dearborn Park Terrace in Chicago
