Cloverfield Toy Canceled?

Dread Central is reporting that the fate of Cloverfield Toy may be in doubt (much like a Cloverfield Sequel)
... He received an e-mail with a status update on the toy, which listed it as both “discontinued” and shipping out sometime in December of this year. Since the toy was supposed to be out this month and not a soul has actually seen one outside of Toyfair, there’s a good chance Hasbro realized that maybe they weren’t the best ones to put this thing out.
I have also received email from people who's orders have been outright canceled. On the other hand, the website shows that the toy is "In-Stock", so who knows!?!?!?

  1. I had called HasbroToyShop.com a few weeks ago @ 1-800-408-0052 and spoke with "Amy." She said the "in stock" status was accurate and counts were being conducted on a "first come, first serve" of the inventory, and she assured me (as I had ordered it the first week of February) that I was "on that list." However, I just now checked the status and it has been canceled.

This is the e-mail I received: Thank you for shopping with HasbroToyShop.com. Due to high demand, the following item(s) you ordered are no longer available. Your credit card will not be charged. ... We apologize for any inconvenience. We would like to offer you 10% off your next purchase at HasbroToyShop.com.
Followed by: Due to high demand, the following item(s) you ordered are not currently available. Please note the revised availability of the items below:

"No longer available" and "Revised availability?!?!"

Did anyone ever get their Slusho! Drink Machines?

(I did get my t-shirt and cap, tho)

Ah, well ... So much for me spending $118.08 on a toy.

  2. I contacted Customer Service, and it sounds like they canceled the original orders since they missed the shipping date. The person I talked to said I could reorder the figure, and that order would ship in December. I forgot to use the discount code they sent in the email, but you should use it to get 10% off the order. Hopefully this is the case, and we can all get our figures!

  3. i got the same email. i got a follow up email about this just today that read:

"We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions regarding your order or would like to change your order, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-408-0052. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO WAIT UNTIL THE DATE(S) INDICATED ABOVE TO RECEIVE YOUR ORDER, YOU MUST CONTACT US TO CONFIRM THAT YOU STILL WANT THE ITEM(S). IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU, THE ITEM(S) WILL NOT BE SHIPPED, AND YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR THEM."

the email fails to list the dates it talks about but i think they're the same December dates shown on the website.

  4. I first saw this the other day and was initially dissapointed. But on thinking about it further, I really thought it just didn't seem to sound right. It seemed strange that it would still be listed on the site when it was canceled. I was over on that site just last week and it had 'buy now' instead of to pre-order. So I think someone just jumped the gun [obviously with more than one thing by the sounds of those emails] and put it up too soon and that.

Glad to hear that there's no cancellation though. Thanks for posting those emails. :)

Now I just need to get back in touch with Hasbro and see if I can somehow get them to ship to Australia. I can get things sent to my best friend in the US if they can't, but it'd be way easier if I can just get it sent to me. I don't know why they have that restriction, as it restricts us Cloverfield fans from other countries.

  7. WOW!

After being soooo frustrated over this, as it was supposed to be "First come, first serve" - And posting publicly my disdain ... HasbroToyShop.com sent me this e-mail:

    Dear Rxxxxx Sxxxxxxxx,

You were incorrectly sent an email recently stating that your order #886160 for the Cloverfield figure was cancelled.

The email should have notified you that, due to a production delay, the anticipated arrival date for this item is December 13, 2008.

    Your order will been reinstated.

Should it be an omen that 'canceled' is spelt wrong?

  9. I cancel my order for the Monster Toy in August, because SLUSHO screwed me out of my Tshirt, I paid for it, and they never shipped, or returned emails. I order it in March. SO I'm glad there is no toy - I'm over this Movie. Defended it for to long anyway.
Over priced junk toy figure anyway! Bad Robot!
    Pain.

  10. Wasn't quite expecting this until mid December (if at all) but it showed up on my doorstep this morning.

Oddly enough, habrotoyshop.com still shows the order as "Not Shipped".
