Cloverfield 3 ARG 04182028.com Website

A new website has been discovered, found through deciphering information in the distorted text underneath the error message on tagruato.jp. Reddit users Camille and MagicJesus were able to break down the text, finding that it reads-

Tokyo – January 18 2018: Tagruato has begun development on a revolutionary new energy technology in what Ceo Ganu Yoshida called a technological great leap forward for our planet. This renewable technology will take at least 4 years to complete along with another six years International regulatory bodies to bring the powerful revolutionary energy source by April 18 2028.

From there, 04182028.com was discovered using the date (April 18th, 2028) similar to the original Cloverfield's infamous 1-18-08 site. On the website was a 11 second video, featuring distorted images and audio, including frames where a face is clearly visible. The video is available here. 



The audio from the video was then examined extensively, resulting in words being distinguishing-able. Reddit and Discord users have so far been able to discern the following-

"...That is why I'm trying to warn you about the dangers of what Tagruato is trying to do..." 

The end of the message is much harder to hear, though it is speculated it reads-

Helios Spacecraft

"That is why we must now battle to save the helios." (Which would make sense as the Helios are a pair of spacecraft probes launched into orbit to study solar processes, and could relate to the 3rd Cloverfield film). 

For now we are still trying to examine every aspect of the video and see if we can find any other clues, messages or codes within the video.

This January marks the 10 year anniversary of the release of Cloverfield on January 18th, 2008.

In terms of the A.R.G, it's been over ten years since the original trailer premiered and viral marketing sites like 1-18-08*, Tagruato, Slusho, TidoWave were found. Who knew that we would still be anticipating the third film 10 years later?

10 Cloverfield Lane came as a pleasant surprise in early 2016, sporting another Alternate Reality Game, 8 years after the first film in the Cloververse. Hopefully the 're-branding' of the Cloververse as an anthology series means we can expect more original films in the future, under the umbrella of the Cloverfield name. As JJ Abrams stated in an interview with Vanity Fair:

"It's like Cloverfield is the amusement park, and each of these movies is a different ride in that park."

After the past entries in the Cloververse, it's exciting to anticipate what the future of the series will hold, especially with the plans that JJ Abrams has for the Cloververse.

So here's a thank you to all the blog-readers, Unfictioners, Redditors and internet-scavengers that have been here from the beginning, for 10 long years. Happy Anniversary Cloverfield

Today was the one year anniversary of Cloverfield's 1-18-08 premiere. There's still no plans for a sequel, but here's a fun Sally Forth comic from RASGold!

Japanese Cloverfield Novelization

In Japan, there is a novelization book of the Cloverfield screenplay. Unfortunately, it is only available in Japanese.

The good news is that Unfiction's Kosmopol - who speaks Japanese, English, and German - picked up a copy while visitng Japan, and will be posting photos and analysis of the content.

Cloverfield Monster Toy Arrives

Reports are pouring in that the Hasbro Cloverfield monster toy has finally been released into the wild. Here are some unboxing shots of the long awaited Clover action figure, complete with Statue of Liberty head, parasites, and NYC backdrop.

The Hasbro website is now showing them as "in stock", so it's not too late to get your own!

A new photo has appeared on 1-18-08.com. This is no April fools joke - it looks the the ARG may be on again!

On the back of the photo is a familiar symbol - the sword symbol from the Slusho! website. Next to the symbol looks like a number, which I'm guessing says #430, but it's very small and hard to read.



Teddy Hanssen, of course, was the boyfriend of Jamie Lascano, until he went missing last December. It is believed that he was captured or killed by Tagruato (or the monster) while investigating the Chuai station. Teddy's final message can be heard at JamieAndTeddy.com.

1-18-08.com - Photo #6 - Deep Sea Nectar

A new photo was added to 1-18-08.com today*. On the front is a Japanese chef pulling something that looks like a pizza out of a freezer. Also in the picture is a red blender.

On the back, there is a recipe written in Japanese:

Thank you for checking us out! We are Introducing this week's tasty one dish. Make sure you eat it cold!

• Skinless chicken breast - 2, cut in halves
• Sōmen noodles - 10 oz.
• Watercress - 1/2 cup cut into small strips
• Turnip - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
• Shiitake Mushrooms - 1/2 cup
• Chicken stock - 1/3 cup
• Sake - 2 tbsp.
• Sugar - 1/2 tsp.
• Deep Sea Nectar - 1 pinch

In a small saucepan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake, and sugar. Chill it until it becomes cold. Grill the chicken breast on both sides for about 8 minutes, and then chill. Boil the noodles for about 3 minutes, and then run under cold water until chilled. Mix the watercress, radish, and mushrooms into the sōmen. Slice the chicken thinly and arrange on top of the sōmen mix. Just before you serve, put the deep sea nectar in the sauce and pour over the noodles generously.

It turns out not to be deep sea crab, but instead it is deep sea nectar/honey, which sounds like the mysterious deep sea ingredient used in Slusho!

The 1-18-08.com site* was updated sometime today with the addition of a ROAR sound, that plays after SIX minutes exactly.

Unfiction has uploaded the MP3 file to enjoy immediately, if you can't wait just SIX minutes!

The name of the sound file is VX.swf. I'm not sure if that has any significance, but there is a VX nerve gas...

1-18-08 - HIDDEN MESSAGES!

There are two HIDDEN MESSAGES on the backs of two of the photos on the 1-18-08 site. To flip a photo over, drag the photo to the top of the stack and "shake it" back-and-forth.




The first hidden message is on the back of the "rob drinking" photo. It says "Dont forget who takes care of you! Love J"

Who's J? JJ Abrams? :) Probably JJ Hawkins (see MySpace post)




The second hidden message is on the back of the newest photo.

It is titled: "Lascano, Platt and Robbie - Jan 2008" and reads: "Robbie, Here, use this photo to send a message of my hotness far and wide!!! Im gonna miss the hell out of ya!! Love, Jamie"
Jamie must be Jaimie Lascano, and the guy in the middle is Hudson Platt.

The latest photo on 1-18-08.com is a picture of Rob, Platt - possibly the camcorder guy, and Jamie Lascano, the blond woman.

I looked through the trailer, and didn't see the woman.

The "physics" of the site seem to be improving. When you move a photo around, it moves the other photos with it, and you can only bring a photo to the front by sliding it out from underneath the other photos. hmmm.

At the end of the Cloverfield trailer, there is a date of 1-18-08. If you add a .com to that - 1-18-08.com, it takes you to a strange website that has one two pictures, that you can drag around the screen. The first picture appeared on July 3rd, the same day as the premiere of the Transformers movie. The second picture showed up 3 days later on July 6th.
