Cloverfield In UK & Ireland

Cloverfield opens tomorrow, 1-2-08, in the UK and Ireland. Here is some Cloverfield information for our friends from across the pond.

Empire Magazine has an exclusive Matt Reeves interview in which he talks about "re-imagining the creature feature, the origins of the monster and his plans for a sequel." He specifically mentions the second video camera on the bridge and it's place in the movie.

BBC Radio's Movie Cafe has an great interview with NY journalist Ben Walters, and another Cloverfield expert, me! :) Cheers! to Bronwen Tulloch for the interview, but unfortunately, things went a bit pear-shaped when it came to pronouncing my name and plugging the website ;) Click the fast-forward "5mins" button, twice, to jump straight to the interview, and stick around afterward to hear an interesting piece about the history of the Statue of Liberty in movies.

Yahoo! Movies has a few new Cloverfield videos, including their review of Cloverfield (5 out of 5 stars), and interviews with JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves.

Also, check out the Yahoo Cloverfield contest to win a trip to NYC! There are also some exclusive Cloverfield contests over at the official Cloverfield site:

• Win A Digital Camcorder
• Win A Nokia 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone

If you are from the UK or Ireland, pop in and say "Hello!"

CloverfieldClues on the Radio

I was a guest today on NPR's All Things Considered, along with box office analyst Jeff Bock, and YouTuber Tom Simmons. We were interviewed by Neda Ulaby, for a story titled 'Cloverfield' Release Will Be Test of Online Hype.

The audio interview, and transcript are available on NPR.org.

CloverfieldClues was also mentioned on a Spanish radio show in Cancún, Mexico called Adixión. The interview was with one of our regulars, Tankobear, who was kind enough to subtitle the video in English for us.

I am half Colombian, like Odette Yustman, but unfortunately I don't speak Spanish, so Muchas Gracias!

JJ Abrams On Radio - KROQ, WMMR, DC101, Alice

JJ Abrams was on the Kevin & Bean Show on the World Famous KROQ 106.7 FM in Southern California, the Preston & Steve Show on WMMR 93.3 FM in Philadelphia, the Sarah & No Name Show on Alice 97.3 (KLLC) in the San Fransisco bay area, and Elliot in The Morning on DC101 FM in the DC area today.

Podcasts from KROQ and WMMR are available now.

• JJ Abrams on WMMR with Preston & Steve
• JJ Abrams on KROQ with Kevin & Bean (entire show here)
• JJ Abrams on DC101 with Elliot in The Morning

BTW, in the first two interviews, JJ Abrams mentions that the movie is two hours long. I think he probably means "about two hours", since the film was only one hour and 24 minutes long when it was submitted for ratings approval.

UPDATE: I have added another JJ interview with Elliot in The Morning on DC101 FM in the DC area. Still no word from Alice...

* Thanks to KROQ listener Josh E, and to KLLC listener Joe S, and WMMR listener Mark T!
