Super 8 NOT Connected To Cloverfield In Any Way
Bad news Cloverfield fans... NY Magazine issued a retraction today after speaking directly to J.J. Abrams, confirming that his new movie Super 8 "has nothing whatsoever to do with Cloverfield". It seems a similar viral campaign may be used, but to reiterate, it "will be totally unconnected to Cloverfield".

ReplyDeleteThe trailer starts with a black screen, that says Steven Spielberg is the producer. Then a small written narrative begins that reads something like this. “In 1970 Area 51 was closed down and everything was shipped to an undisclosed location in Ohio”. Then you see a train carrying lots of cargo loads. Cut to a car driving down the road that jumps up on the tracks and heads straight toward the train. Cut to black screen and then the words “From Director J.J. Abrams”. Then back to the train and car colliding into each other, the the train derails, the camera slowly zooms in on one of the tipped over cargo cars of the derailed train, then something is punching on the walls inside the train cart trying to escape. Cut to black screen and then the title 'Super 8'."

ReplyDeleteHas anyone read the book "Event" by David Golemon? Super strong alien, middle of the desert, government cover up...I'm not bashing because I loved the book and am beyond excited for this movie. I just immediately thought of it after seeing the teaser.

ReplyDeleteThere is only ONE souce allegedly "confirming" that Super 9 is not related to Cloverfield, and apparently JJ. Abrams has lied before, apart of the viral marketing. So time will tell.

ReplyDeleteif u freeze frame at the static parts there are weird pictures. at the end of the trailer when the camera lens comes out u can see a girl's face. the these words come out... it spells out "scariest thing i ever saw" ... jj is soo cool- gusbus007
