ReplyDeleteIt's so good to be back here. I've periodically checked over the last 8 years just to see if there was anything. Then, last night the trailer broke and I got that old feeling again. Hope this ride is just as fun.

Great to be back! While it doesn't seem like there will be much time for an ARG like last time (only two months to release!), it's great to see something, and almost 8 years to the day of the original's release, too!

I noticed that the font on the poster is different then the font used on screen. The V, A and N all have this strange knicked triangle. Could it be a clue? I am certain i recongize it from something.

ReplyDeleteHey all i just found something original cloverfield related I never saw before. Happened to goofle Ganu Yoshida. Ended up on a facebook page of some sorts. Saw a few photos ive never seen before. One was a pictire of a whale on a whaling ship and it said. Ill never forget this day. Has anyone seen this before
ReplyDeleteAhh JJ youve got us hooked. Found 2 small things im sure are red herrings but here goes. First off watch the trailer you see a few different pictures in the background of the Eiffel Tower. If u all remember correctly someone way back when made a Cloverfield 2 poster with a destroyed Eiffel Tower. Also i read somewhere the puzzle they are making is called.catfish.

ReplyDeleteA.) Cloverfield is the name the government came up with. The Cloverfield Incident. The first movie is footage that was found in Central Park after the "Cloverfield Incident."
B.) 10 Cloverfield Lane is an address.
Is it possible that the incident was named "Cloverfield" because of something that took place at this address?
Or do the events in 10 Cloverfield Lane occur after the first movie and now streets are named Cloverfield in an attempt to honor the people who lost their lives in the first movie.
One would assume that the events in 10 Cloverfield Lane happen after the events in Cloverfield due to the cell phones featured in both movies. 10 Cloverfield Lane shows an iPhone.
BUT WHAT'S THE CONNECTION?!?!?!
Maybe we are all the connection. I wonder has the question when are you gonna do a sequel to Cloverfield been his most asked question over the years. Maybe its a gift for all of us. Maybe he has something bigger planned. Lets face it we were all there for the first one. And 8 yrs later so muched has changed and here we are again shorter ride but same thing. I for one dont think hed attach his name or the Cloverfield name to it if it was just a way to make money. It would mean alienating a large audience that played along and supported his first movie. Id say we invested a good amount of our lives working on finding all the stuff that JJ Drew and Matt put together. I highly doubt he would.screw us over. Maybe its just a welcoming back party.
ReplyDeleteIf the "Blood Relative" thing means anything with the monster itself, I would assume it has something to do with the string of things growing at the bottom of the ocean that the Japan monster "died" on, in the Kishin comic, part 4.

We know the NY monster's SoA was in the satellite that fell at the beginning of the movie, waking and drawing the monster to C.I.
Could there only be "one monster" at a time, and when one dies, another one starts to wake?

I think this is going to be the Five Night's at Freddy's of movies. Lot's of hidden backstory, and a secret plot that people have to figure out through codes and messages. I loved that aspect of Five Night's at Freddy's, so this is going to be great.
ReplyDeleteDo not know how legit this is bit I was contacted by a freind with some inner insight. No i cannot comment on connection or what not. I will say there is alot of conflicting stories and at least 3 different takes on what this is and how it connects. I was told the script was completely rewritten before shooting. They did do some extra shooting earlier this year i wasnt told why or what. It is loosely based on the cellar from what i understood and that everything and everyone isnt quite what they seem to be or how they are portrayed. I was given a loose synopsis of the first two thirds of the movie and how the name of the movie came about. I was told some stories may have been or will be floated around the internet to throw people off big surprise. I was told to some extent what happens in the beginning of the film and what the set up for the first 2 3rds if the film is. I will put it to you this way within the first five minutes i will know if i was being mislead or he was legit
ReplyDeleteI will say i wasnt old what happens in the last part of the movie and if clovie shows up or not. I asked about the budget and got a chuckle. I was told they just finished with post production. Asked about Imax again silence. I was told that there was someone else who had laid out a good amount of the film online but i havent found it yet and to be honest i dont wanna know more lol. I apologize if its vague but part of the fun is searching things out and i dont wanna ruin it for those that dont wanna know.
One thing i did ask was why it seems that Matt and Drew werent involved this time around and was told how do u k ow they werent lol. Was also told Star Wars made it easy to bury this. Lol all stuff we kinda know. Again i dont know how legit all this is and im.not about starying massive rumors. He also mentioned he wasnt sure anyone has aseen anything yet and if there was a screening it was private and probably had a bunch of stuff edited out. Lol
My big question is if it does relate baxk to the original why arent Matt and Drew onboard also. I dont know. Thought you all would enjoy this. From what i was let in on i can see how it ties in and i think the beginning of the movie if he is legit will lead into the tie in but wont explain how to much later on. I will give on easter egg for you all if my source lol is to be belived this occurs away from the initial incident.

ReplyDeleteI found the supposed review of the movie from a writer named Jay Carson at indie review. It seems alot of his info is interesti g more i depth than what i found out. Search it out if ud like but it may contain some spoilers. My info was similiar though some stuff was diff so who knows good luck. Has anyone found any other ARG stuff

...wow just saw the walking dead tv spot, and i most say... At first i didn't agree with most whom choice to hope that this is part of the Cloverfield universe, but seeing the farm house with the glow behind it my assumptions are now suppressed. Quick glimpse of a hazmat suit, and few other clues of a worldwide out break. I wonder what puzzle pieces ill get with my order of pop.
ReplyDeleteWith people finding things in real life locations has anyone tried Memorial Park in Paris, TN? It's where the Eiffel Tower structure in that city is located. Maybe the item we need to figure out what Megan got for her birthday is buried around there.
