Cloverfield opened in Japan this weekend, and I expect it will do well in the land of Godzilla. We should get the box office numbers in the next few days. Unfortunately for Japan, they are the last place in the world to get Cloverfield, so there experience may be quite different given all the coverage - not only will they know all about the ARG, but there are the three manga/comics as well.
Another milestone this weekend, Cloverfield will hit the
$80,000,000 mark in the US. After making $40 million in its first three days, it has taken another 11 weeks to double that!
