New Voicemail From Howard On Megan's Phone

Megan's cell phone has finally received a new voicemail from Howard!

helveticatt, the owner of Megan's phone, has posted a recording of his latest message.

The recording is a little hard to hear clearly, but here is what I think he is saying:
It's my fault, I see that now(?).
Now it's too late for you to leave Chicago.
I was(?) never going to see you again.
You were my little girl, and it was my job to protect you. I failed.
I'm going to make it up to you, I know how to make it right, I promise.
UPDATE: Here is a mirror of the voicemail file if the link above is not working:

Audio File From Hidden 10 Cloverfield Lane USB Drive

MugensKeeper has uploaded the audio files from the two USB drives found in Howard's GPS dead drop to DropBox.

The contents of the audio files are a recording of a Mission Control conversation concerning a large burst of unexplained magnetic energy. At the end of the conversation, they are instructed to cover up the incident.

There are five identical audio files, spread over the two drives - likely a sort of makeshift backup system, in case one of the files was damaged.

The "Swiss Army knife" drive contained two identical files:
The "bottle opener" drive contained the same three identical files:
If you open one of the files in notepad, there is some embedded text in the file:

Employee Terminal 838-4305174 :: PM
I did a quick audio spectrograph, but nothing unusual appears.

I also tried slowing down and reversing the audio, but there doesn't appear to be anything hidden in the audio.

Here is the full text of the conversation. If you see any corrections that need to be made, let me know in the comments.

The full-length version of Michael Giacchino's "Roar" from Cloverfield has finally been released on iTunes.

The non-DRM'ed M4A download runs $1.99, and is 23 MB.

* Thanks to Eric B for the link!

From the official press release:

For the first time, the full length orchestral piece, entitled "ROAR!", will be available exclusively from iTunes paralleling the release of the film for download. Giacchino's "ROAR!" showcases an epic monster movie style, one that captivated audience members throughout the end credits. The film version of "ROAR!" totaled 9:45. The iTunes release finally makes available the full length, unedited piece that runs 12:15.

About Michael Giacchino

Michael Giacchino recently garnered an Academy Award nomination, and won a Grammy for his score for Pixar's "Ratatouille". His previous film scores include "Mission Impossible III", "The Family Stone" and Pixar's "The Incredibles." Cloverfield RiffTrax

Cloverfield will be getting it's own RiffTrax commentary on April 22! RiffTrax are third-party commentaries that you play while watching the movie. Brilliant idea!

From their site:

RiffTrax.com is an innovative site featuring the hilarious DVD commentaries of Michael J. Nelson - Star of the legendary Mystery Science Theater 3000! At RiffTrax.com, you can download feature-length commentaries by Mike (plus other stars of MST3K and guest celebrities) and listen to these "RiffTrax" in sync with your favorite, and not so favorite DVDs. It's like watching a movie with your funniest friend. And it's super easy to do!

I'm sure these MST3K alum will have an interesting take on the movie - even their synopsis is funny:

"What if a monster attacked a city?" This is the shockingly novel concept behind the viral marketing triumph of the year! Filled with "fresh"* performances and "authentic"** cinematography, Cloverfield masterfully takes a page from The Blair Witch Project, reworking the "snotty 20-somethings endure trauma while repeatedly saying 'dude'" genre into something unique while still being very much the same. Look for star turns by That Girl Who Was in Mean Girls and That One Dude Who Played Eric in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Mike, Kevin and Bill's RiffTrax was found by the Department of Defense (and then thrown away, but we dug it out of a garbage can.)

*Not very good.
**Not good at all.

* Thanks to Roger C. for finding this!

JJ Abrams On Radio - KROQ, WMMR, DC101, Alice

JJ Abrams was on the Kevin & Bean Show on the World Famous KROQ 106.7 FM in Southern California, the Preston & Steve Show on WMMR 93.3 FM in Philadelphia, the Sarah & No Name Show on Alice 97.3 (KLLC) in the San Fransisco bay area, and Elliot in The Morning on DC101 FM in the DC area today.

Podcasts from KROQ and WMMR are available now.
BTW, in the first two interviews, JJ Abrams mentions that the movie is two hours long. I think he probably means "about two hours", since the film was only one hour and 24 minutes long when it was submitted for ratings approval.

UPDATE: I have added another JJ interview with Elliot in The Morning on DC101 FM in the DC area. Still no word from Alice...

* Thanks to KROQ listener Josh E, and to KLLC listener Joe S, and WMMR listener Mark T!

Slusho.jp has added a mobile phone section to the site, which can be reached on your cell phone at slusho.wap.com. The WAP site features wallpaper and ringtones that you can download to your phone, the Slusho history, and information on the Slusho! contest.

Actually you can visit this in your regular browser as well (IE works better than FireFox), but you won't be able to hear the ringtones.

Tagruato Voicemail - Memorial Service

The Tagruato voicemail message had been updated again:

Thank you for calling Tagruato. All of our lines are currently busy.

If you are calling regarding the Kazui Ichigawa memorial service, all seats have been filled, and registration is now closed.

For all other concerns, please leave a message, and one of our representatives will find you as soon as possible.

It sounds like there is going to be a funeral, but what is with the registration? Was this someone working on the Chuai Station? Does this have anything to do with "the incident" mentioned in the Tagrauto memo?

You can listen to the audio here:

English Only
Full Call With Japanese & English

UPDATE: The funeral is explained in the following article from TidoWave.com:

YOSHIDA MEDICAL RESEARCH MOURNS THE LOSS OF MARINE BIOLOGIST

Tagruato suffered a large loss yesterday when Kazui Ichigawa, 63, and his family were found dead early in the morning.

His body, along with the bodies of his wife, Rie Ichigawa, 55, daughter Norika, 36, and granddaughter Kyoko,10, was discovered in the Daisetsu-San National Park at a popular RV camping area. Early word from the police is that it was a gas explosion in their trailer.

In a statement released to the press, press consultant Aki Ito said, “We are shocked and saddened at the sudden passing of perhaps our finest Marine Biologist. Ichigawa was not only an employee, but also a friend. He died with honor.”

His tragic death comes mere days after he abruptly retired from YMR. When informed of that, Ito replied, “It is a shame and a tragedy- this is a man who always put his family first.”

A close friend and co-worker (who asked to remain anonymous) believes that Ichigawa uncovered a magnificent discovery before he retired. “Unfortunately, his computer and files, even ones he kept in his home safe, are nowhere to be found. Tagruato is currently conducting a search for them.”

Ichigawa is survived by his son-in-law, Toshiro, 39, who was away on business at the time of the accident.

A memorial service will be held at Tagruato Headquarters. For details, contact a Tagruato representative at +81-3-5403-6318.

* Thanks to Teddybear for noticing the message had changed. Teddybear... Teddy Hanssen, is that you? ;)

Tagruato Voicemail Message Update

Tagruato's voice mail message changed recently:

Thank you for calling Tagruato. Due to high call volumes, your call has been transferred to an automated answering service. If you have questions concerning our ParafFun recall, please leave a message, and one of our associates will find and support you as soon as possible.

ParafFun Wax Distributors are a subsidiary of Tagruato. This is from the ParafFun page on Tagruato's website*:
One of the many byproducts of our Petroleum reservoir is paraffin wax, an alkane with dozens of handy uses in your day to day life! Edible, malleable, colorable, and a fine electrical insulator. ParafFun! Wax Distributors meets all your wax needs.
Why would Tagruato be recalling ParafFun? Does this have anything to do with the hack on Tagruatro's website?

BTW, it's not clear how long the new message has been available, but it was found yesterday by nauttebayo at UnFiction.

Using Skype, I called the number and recorded the new message:
You can find the original Tagruato voice mail message here, which basically said there were no updates at that time.

* The Tagruato website has been hacked and is currently down, but I have a mirror of the old site here.
