Since our initial article on 04182028.com, the site was updates numerous times during the ARG. The following will be all the updates to the site in chronological order, starting with the discovery of the site. To find out more about how the entire ARG progressed, check out reddit user u/blueonred, who helpfully created a whole thread outlining it. The Youtube channel 'Cloververse' has also collected all the videos from the Cloverfield movies ARGs spanning 2007-present. All videos seen and connected with 04182028 are available there.



01/19/18

01/24/18

04182028.com is updated with a new video. The visual aspect is still mostly distorted, with a few new frames of the figure visible in video 1.

The transcript for the video seemed to be a news broadcaster:

"Welcome to the show... Cloverfield Station...joining us today...controversy... Mark Stambler, author of the book..."

This update to 04182028.com welcomed a new video with cleaner audio. The same figure that was in videos 1 & 2 (the consensus being that this IS Mark Stambler) is seen more consistently.

The transcript for the video:

"Woman (interviewer): Your thoughts, Professor Mark Stambler?

Mark Stambler: ... because of Tagruato... Everything that's happened, I was right. The CEI was a lie, just like I predicted in my book, the Clover-"

CEI we know is in reference to the Cloverfield Energy Initiative, that was printed on official Tagruato brochures included in the delivery of the Slusho! Truck bobbleheads.

04182028.com is updated once again. These updated have been coming frequently and fast, living little time to absorb information fully before the next update is flung upon us. This new video seems to suggest someone talking about a social media hoax. It mentions a location and a lamp. The transcript reads:

"... This is a social media hoax... social medium, my email...why does this have to happen again... third floor, by the lamp."

The trailer for The Cloverfield Paradox premieres at the Super Bowl, and in a massive twist the movie is released after the games ends on Netflix. 04182028.com is also updated. In the newest video, Mark Stambler (who is being interviewed by the woman we heard in earlier videos) reveals his book, titled 'The Cloverfield Paradox'.

During The Cloverfield Paradox, the distorted videos we have been seeing finally
come together in a scene taking place aboard the Shepard.

Mark Stambler is being interviewed live and we finally get to see the complete video, with proper audio and visual quality.

The interview is often cut away from or spoken over in the film, but the transcript for the interview seems to read:

Woman: Another test aboard the Cloverfield Space Station. The 47th test in just over two years is scheduled for 8:00am Eastern Standard Time. All eyes are on--

Suzanne Cryer, also newswoman in The Cloverfield Paradox

Note some small and interesting points in the scene:

- The woman interviewing Mark Stambler is actress Suzanne Cryer, who played the woman trying to get into the bunker in 10 Cloverfield Lane.


- The @Paradox_Is_Real account (that is seen under Mark Stambler on the screen in the movie) is real account on Twitter, created in January 2018. Currently there is no content on the page. The official Cloverfield Paradox twitter page recently tweeted this in reply to Chris O'Dowd (one of the actors in TCP)-

Hinting at the fact that this is either a still more of the ARG still to come, or a cheeky wink to the audience and ARG players. This is where 04182028 has led us, up to this moment.

New Voicemail From Howard On Megan's Phone

Megan's cell phone has finally received a new voicemail from Howard!

helveticatt, the owner of Megan's phone, has posted a recording of his latest message.

The recording is a little hard to hear clearly, but here is what I think he is saying:

It's my fault, I see that now(?).
Now it's too late for you to leave Chicago.
I was(?) never going to see you again.
You were my little girl, and it was my job to protect you. I failed.
I'm going to make it up to you, I know how to make it right, I promise.

New Outgoing Message On Howard Stambler's Phone

Howard Stambler has a new outgoing message on his cell phone. It sounds like he is getting ready to head to the bunker!

This phone belongs to my daughter.
I don’t know how you got it,
but it doesn't matter much anyways.
It’s happening…
and, I wish everyone just listened to me.
I could have helped you all if you just listened.

Howard also texted Megan's phone, asking her to delete all the messages in her voicemail box so he could leave her a new message:

I don't care who you are, but if you are with my daughter, clear your voicemail so I can give you a message to her.

No word yet from the owner of Megan's phone if Howard ever left a voicemail...

Life Preserving Information Update - I'm Not Wrong About This

There is a new entry on the Life Preserving Information page on the FunAndPrettyThings website.

In the latest update, it sounds like Howard may be giving up up on hearing from Megan.

FunAndPrettyThings.com Update - Denise Responds To Howard

After careful instruction from V37, Megan's mom Denise has found her way to the FAPT website, and left a message for Howard.

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Mrs. Stambler Responds!

In the last FAPT update, Howard mentions that his silverware is being sold by his wife, and a matching ad was found on the Chicago Craigslist.

Many users, including myself, emailed the seller with various types of emails: posing as a legitimate buyer, asking about Howard or Megan, etc.

Unfiction user V37, aka Danny, has had the most success, and has had an ongoing conversation over the last few days.

Danny took the approach of letting Mrs. Stambler know exactly what Howard is up to. He established her trust telling her facts that Howard has revealed, and pointing her towards Howard's voicemail. There is quite a bit of back and forth, explaining how to access the various FAPT websites, but it eventually pays off.

In her final email, she reveals her "real" name to be Denise Paulson (maiden name? remarried?) and tells a frightening story about Howard's extreme "Prepping", and how he has taken things too far. She also suggests that something terrible may have happened to Megan:

I was up all night reading and re-reading everything he wrote. All of it--the ranting and the raving about how evil I am, the page where he shows off how to steal a car. The constant questions to Megan, as if she would or could reply. The simulation "game." I'm very familiar with the kids of games Howard likes to play. He used to wake us up in the middle of the night to do emergency preparedness drills.

Howard was always worried about emergencies. I used to think it was just how he'd learned to see the world from when he was in the Navy. But things got so much worse when he started working at Bold Futura. He used to come home at night and sit through dinner without saying a word. He became obsessed with building his fallout shelter, putting all our money into it. I didn't even think he'd mind too much when we left. That way he could keep building his bunker without anybody to get in his way. But reading everything you've shown me on this site. I can see that it's just made him more obsessed.

This is not the first time he's done this. Every few years there's some new danger that's going to kill us all. But the disaster never happens. And then he just finds something else to obsess about. During one of his panics, he made us hide in the cellar. Megan must have been about 11, and she wouldn't stop asking him why we were hiding. So he put his hand over her mouth to keep her quiet, and kept it there so long that she couldn't breathe. That was the moment I knew that I needed to get us away from him. Maybe if I'd realized it sooner, things wouldn't have turned out so badly.

Danny, thank you so much for showing me this. Please don't take this the wrong way, but don't contact me again. I have to figure out what I"m going to do about this, and how to best take care of myself.

Now that she knows "the truth" about what Howard has been up to, I'm not sure that she will be answering any more emails, but as long as the ad is up, it's worth a shot.

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Family Heirlooms

There is a new update on the FAPT website, The latest message from Howard mentions that Megan's mom is trying to sell the family silverware to "a random stranger".

Of course, the best place to find random strangers is on craigslist, and Melodyman from unfiction found a listing matching the description above. Notice the notebook in the corner with Megan's name written on it!

Some people have tried emailing the seller to get more info, but no responses so far...

Also, while there is no map specifically attached to the ad, if you filter the search results by "map", the location of the item is revealed to be at an apartment complex called "The Terraces of Dearborn Park" near downtown Chicago.

Maybe there is another dead drop? People are already on their way to look, so we'll know soon!

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Cell Phone Problems

The FAPT website has been updated with a new message from Howard.

He mentions the phone found in the dead drop, but says that he hasn't heard from Megan yet, which probably means the phone is out of play now.

He also mentions the Soviets again, and that he used to be at SPAWAR, which stand for Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.

Life Preserving Information Page Updated - Radiogirl Posts High Score

There was a new update to the Life Preserving Information page on the FunAndPrettyThings website.

RADIOGIRL, YOU’RE THERE! I CAN SEE THAT YOU’RE USING THE SIMULATOR. I WAS BEGINNING TO WORRY THAT YOU REALLY HADN’T SEEN ANY OF MY MESSAGES. BUT NOW THAT I KNOW YOU’RE LISTENING, I’M NOT GOING TO REST UNTIL I KNOW YOU’RE PREPARED.

I KNOW THAT YOU’RE SEEING SOME WEIRD RESULTS IN THE SIMULATOR. I MAY HAVE TO TAKE IT OFFLINE IF I CAN’T FIX IT, BUT I HOPE IT DOESN’T COME TO THAT. THERE’S NO TIME TO WASTE, AND THE SIMULATOR IS GOING TO TEACH YOU SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT.

If you run the simulator, and pull up the stats, you will see an entry for Radiogirl, which this latest message from Howard confirms.

The "weird results" Howard mentions is probably from people at Reddit hacking the game. I guess this is a subtle warning that Howard may take the game down if that continues...

UPDATE: according to one of the Reddit hackers the game "has been updated and the exploit that allowed for people to send in fake scores and messages has been fixed."

FunAndPrettyThings.com Survival Simulation

There was a new update to the Life Preserving Information page on the FunAndPrettyThings website.

Heading to the link takes you to a text-based survival simulation game, where you can practice living in a bunker to see how long you can survive. I lasted 216 days on my first try.

Audio File From Hidden 10 Cloverfield Lane USB Drive

MugensKeeper has uploaded the audio files from the two USB drives found in Howard's GPS dead drop to DropBox.

The contents of the audio files are a recording of a Mission Control conversation concerning a large burst of unexplained magnetic energy. At the end of the conversation, they are instructed to cover up the incident.

There are five identical audio files, spread over the two drives - likely a sort of makeshift backup system, in case one of the files was damaged.

The "Swiss Army knife" drive contained two identical files:

The "bottle opener" drive contained the same three identical files:

I did a quick audio spectrograph, but nothing unusual appears.

I also tried slowing down and reversing the audio, but there doesn't appear to be anything hidden in the audio.

GPS Coordinates Reveal Dead Drop From Howard

Using the GPS coordinates found in the hidden trailer images, Reddit user MugensKeeper made his way out to the location and found something there!

I found a case!!!!! Filled with survival gear, messages, puzzle piece, and a USB!!!!

The exact spot was marked with an empty Swamp Pop satsuma fizz bottle on a small mound of fresh dirt.

The message, apparently from Howard, says:

Listen to these and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's almost right on top of us.

You'll need a whole lot more than this kit if you're gonna have a chance to make it to the other side.

BTW, Congrats to MugensKeeper for being the one to find this. He had driven around to various GPS coordinates before we found all the numbers, so I'm glad all his hard work paid off!

UPDATE: Here is a more in-depth video of the contents of the ammo box. After a closer look, it appears that there are two USB drives in the box, and puzzle pieces from the Cat Fish puzzle seen in the trailer.

New Message On FAPT - Spy Satellites

The FunAndPrettyThings.com (FAPT) chat has been updated with a new message from Howard. 

In this latest update, Howard reveals that he used work with spy satellites. He and his team discovered something "up there" (which could mean "in space", or "from space"...), and now the government is trying to cover it up. He doesn't reveal what he found, but he thinks that the recent launch of a new U.S. military satellite may mean the government is getting ready to do something about whatever it was that he found.

Howard mentions that he worked on Seasat, a real satellite program that was designed to monitor the oceans (not "up there"). Conspiracy theorists think that the military shut down Seasat when they discovered it could also be used to track submarines, using a short circuit as a covering story.

He also mentions that his mentor was accused of spying and sent to jail for 365 years. There was a real life Navy Radioman named Jerry Whitworth, a member of the Walker Spy Ring, who was sentenced to 365 years for selling secret information to the Soviets.

The new page is a Megan survival guide, with fun tips on how to put together a bug-out bag or hot-wire a car. 

There are also links to other survival pages and helpful information such as weather and train schedules. 

There's a lot to look at, but at first glace, some of these links appear to be to real survival websites, so don't expect that everything is part of the game.

DinosaurDracula at Reddit has discovered that the "Radioman 70" phrase on the shirt Howard Stambler (aka John Goodman) is wearing in his Employee of the Month photo can be made into the URL: radioman70.com

Going to this site, redirects you to FunAndPrettyThings.com.

Things to note about this page:

• The photo with the letters is missing the following letters; M E G A N


• If you try to "cheat" by viewing the source code for the page, there is a warning message:
  
  You do not belong here.    
  Megan would never come here.    
  I know who you are and will be tracking you.
  
  
• One of the photos is the Eiffel Tower, and there were a lot of Eiffel towers in the 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer.

The photo of the computer appears to be from a scene in the movie "Pretty In Pink", and when you click on the photo, a window pops-up and asks for a passphrase.

Reddit user BriarrRose figured out from the Pretty In Pink scene that the passphrase is "Do you want to talk?" which leads you to a secret message board.

Radioman70 has posted a message to his daughter Megan warning her about an impending danger, and for her to get to shelter as soon as possible. It appears that Howard has build two bunkers, one where he lives(?), and another in Chicago.

If you try to reply to the chat, another window pops up asking if you are Megan, and if you say yes, is asks:

"What was the secret gift I gave you on your 13th birthday?"

It could be anything, but probably something small since it is a secret. Maybe it is something in one of these photos or something hidden in the bunker, which is 'filled with everything she likes'.

Tagruato Employee Of the Month Pages - Howard Stambler

New "Employee Of The Month" pages have been discovered on the Tagruato website !

Going to the URL tagruato.jp/employeeofthemonth takes you to the February employee of the month page.

Here we find a photo and description of Dr. Feng Guangbiao, the author of the most recent Tagruato email.

A link at the bottom of the page takes you to last month's pages, where you will find Vanessa Gwon, the January employee of the month

However, the big discovery is the February Bold Futura employee of the month - Howard Stambler (aka John Goodman)!

The profile reads:

Stambler is wearing a t-shirt that says "Radioman '70", possibly a reference to the now defunct Radioman rating for Navy personnel specializing in communications technology. The year 1970 likely means that he served during the Vietnam war.
