Is The "God Particle" The Next Cloververse Movie?

There has been a lot of speculation about the next JJ Abrams movie, God Particle, and whether or not it will be connected to the "Cloververse".

Here is a synopsis of God Particle, which was written by Oren Uziel, and will be directed by Julius Onah:

The story, set in the near future, centers on a team of astronauts on a space station making a terrifying discovery that challenges all they know about the fabric of reality, as they desperately fight for their survival. 

This scenario certainly sounds very similar to the audio recording that Howard left at the dead drop, assuming what they find is aliens. 

Howsoever anything is certainly possible, I don't think this will have anything to do with the Cloververse.

But Space!?! And Aliens!?!

10 Cloverfield Lane International Poster - Spoliers!

The 10 Cloverfield Lane Thailand facebook page has a new 10 Cloverfield Lane poster which contains a major spoiler, revealing something that happens at the end of the movie.

It's a completely different approach to marketing the film, and ruins the surprise of the 'monster' at the end of the movie. However, since this is a Cloverfield movie, most people assumed there would be some kind of monster somewhere in the movie, so it's hard to say how much this would affect the impact of that scene.

Swamp Pop Moves Long-Term Storage

Swamp Pop, the non-fictional drink that appears in 10 Cloverfield Lane has made some changes to their website.

They have removed the "Long-Term Shelter Supply" item from their online store, and now there is a a Long Term Storage link at the bottom of their home page.

The blurb on the page is longer and slightly different than the old description:

Also, the "alt text" for the fall out shelter image is "4.8.13", which mirrors the original item's price of $4813.

This still doesn't mean that Swamp Pop is "in game", Mike. IMO, it looks like they're just having a little fun, but don't want people trying to contact them about this anymore.

International 10 Cloverfield Lane Trailer - Spoilers!

The international 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer takes a much different approach to marketing the film, specifically highlighting what takes place outside of the bunker, and revealing the monsters that live outside the bunker.

The Original 10 Cloverfield Lane Script: The Cellar

In recent interviews, JJ Abrams has stated that 10 Cloverfield Lane was based on a spec script that he received. The script was titled "The Cellar" and was leaked long before the move came out.

This has been a major spoiler topic over the last couple of months, but now that the movie has been released, it's interesting to see how the original script compares to the finished movie.

The core bunker story is essentially the same, although the characters and their motivations are all slightly different.

The changes are significant enough that I don't think we can draw any conclusions about the movie from the script, but it is an interesting read nonetheless.

The Last Scene of the Original Cloverfield Movie: Splashdown

On the Blu-ray & DVD versions of Cloverfield, you can clearly see "some thing" falling from the sky and into the ocean in the very last scene of the movie.

During the Cloverfield ARG, we were told that this was a piece of the Japanese "ChimpanzIII" satellite. However, just like the Chuai "oil drilling" station, this was probably a cover story by Tagruato to cover up something much bigger.

New Voicemail From Howard On Megan's Phone

Megan's cell phone has finally received a new voicemail from Howard!

helveticatt, the owner of Megan's phone, has posted a recording of his latest message.

The recording is a little hard to hear clearly, but here is what I think he is saying:

It's my fault, I see that now(?).
Now it's too late for you to leave Chicago.
I was(?) never going to see you again.
You were my little girl, and it was my job to protect you. I failed.
I'm going to make it up to you, I know how to make it right, I promise.

10 Cloverfield Lane Early Screenings Tonight

While the official release date for 10 Cloverfield Lane is 3-11-2016, tonight is "Early Screening" night - the first night that it is available to the general public.

It is currently "Certified Fresh" at 91% by Rotten Tomatoes, and Tribeca Film called it "The Best Big-Studio Sci-Fi Film In Years."

I loved it, and after two months of anticipation, it exceeded my expectations.

I have added two polls to the side-bar so you can weigh-in on what you thought about 10 Cloverfield Lane, and how it compares to the original Cloverfield.

New Outgoing Message On Howard Stambler's Phone

Howard Stambler has a new outgoing message on his cell phone. It sounds like he is getting ready to head to the bunker!

This phone belongs to my daughter.
I don’t know how you got it,
but it doesn't matter much anyways.
It’s happening…
and, I wish everyone just listened to me.
I could have helped you all if you just listened.

Howard also texted Megan's phone, asking her to delete all the messages in her voicemail box so he could leave her a new message:

I don't care who you are, but if you are with my daughter, clear your voicemail so I can give you a message to her.

No word yet from the owner of Megan's phone if Howard ever left a voicemail...

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Message From A Frenemy

There is a new mysterious message on the FAPT chat page. It appears that a colleague of Howard has reached out to Howard using FAPT to pass a secret message.

The initials of the poster, NR, likely match the name of fellow Bold Futura employee Nikolia Roza.

Linked in the message is a strange audio file, which starts out as haunting music, but appears to contain some sort of encoded message.

The file is called my_audio_file.mp3 in the message, but when you download it, it is named T_03072016_6SW.mp3

Andrew posted in the comments that the file is encoded using a HAM radio technique called ssTV (Slow Scan TV). Essentially, it allows you to broadcast images using a radio signal.

Playing the audio file, while running a decoder program (I used MMSTV), the signal generates this hidden image:

Life Preserving Information Update - I'm Not Wrong About This

There is a new entry on the Life Preserving Information page on the FunAndPrettyThings website.

In the latest update, it sounds like Howard may be giving up up on hearing from Megan.

CloverfieldClues No Spoiler Policy

Between the 10 Cloverfield Lane movie premier last night, and the sneak previews tonight, a lot of people will have seen the movie before it officially opens this Friday.

This has caused comments here to drop to near zero, out of fear of getting spoiled.

We have a strict no-spoiler policy at Cloverfield Clues. I'll be seeing the movie tonight, so I may post a spoiler-free review, and of course I'll post any new ARG updates, but I promise I won't post ANY spoilers until everyone has had a fair chance to see it.

I hope you will do your part as well. Speculate all you want about the ARG or what's in the trailers, but if you have seen the movie, please DO NOT post any spoilers here in the comments.

The good news is, that you should be able to continue posting your comments here without ANY worry of getting spoiled.

10 Cloverfield Lane Trailer - Be Prepared

There is a new 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer titled "Be Prepared" with a bunch of new dialog and dialog, plus a new voice-over:

In today's world, you have to be prepared for anything. You need a flashlight, clothes, a first aid kit, a diesel generator, a reliable water source, three years worth of canned food, a gas mask, and a reinforced concrete bunker, built at least 40 feet below ground. 

But in the end, there are some things you can't prepare for.

The official release date for 10 Cloverfield Lane is this Friday, but there will be sneak previews tonight at select IMAX theaters across the country.

I will be seeing the 7:00pm showing at the AMC NEWPORT ON THE LEVEE 20 & IMAX in Newport, KY (across the river from Cincinnati, OH)

After careful instruction from V37, Megan's mom Denise has found her way to the FAPT website, and left a message for Howard.

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Mrs. Stambler Responds!

In the last FAPT update, Howard mentions that his silverware is being sold by his wife, and a matching ad was found on the Chicago Craigslist.

Many users, including myself, emailed the seller with various types of emails: posing as a legitimate buyer, asking about Howard or Megan, etc.

Unfiction user V37, aka Danny, has had the most success, and has had an ongoing conversation over the last few days.

Danny took the approach of letting Mrs. Stambler know exactly what Howard is up to. He established her trust telling her facts that Howard has revealed, and pointing her towards Howard's voicemail. There is quite a bit of back and forth, explaining how to access the various FAPT websites, but it eventually pays off.

In her final email, she reveals her "real" name to be Denise Paulson (maiden name? remarried?) and tells a frightening story about Howard's extreme "Prepping", and how he has taken things too far. She also suggests that something terrible may have happened to Megan:

I was up all night reading and re-reading everything he wrote. All of it--the ranting and the raving about how evil I am, the page where he shows off how to steal a car. The constant questions to Megan, as if she would or could reply. The simulation "game." I'm very familiar with the kids of games Howard likes to play. He used to wake us up in the middle of the night to do emergency preparedness drills.

Howard was always worried about emergencies. I used to think it was just how he'd learned to see the world from when he was in the Navy. But things got so much worse when he started working at Bold Futura. He used to come home at night and sit through dinner without saying a word. He became obsessed with building his fallout shelter, putting all our money into it. I didn't even think he'd mind too much when we left. That way he could keep building his bunker without anybody to get in his way. But reading everything you've shown me on this site. I can see that it's just made him more obsessed.

This is not the first time he's done this. Every few years there's some new danger that's going to kill us all. But the disaster never happens. And then he just finds something else to obsess about. During one of his panics, he made us hide in the cellar. Megan must have been about 11, and she wouldn't stop asking him why we were hiding. So he put his hand over her mouth to keep her quiet, and kept it there so long that she couldn't breathe. That was the moment I knew that I needed to get us away from him. Maybe if I'd realized it sooner, things wouldn't have turned out so badly.

Danny, thank you so much for showing me this. Please don't take this the wrong way, but don't contact me again. I have to figure out what I"m going to do about this, and how to best take care of myself.

A new 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer debuted this weekend, featuring new dialog between Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Howard (John Goodman):

Michelle: There's a woman. She wants me to let her in.

Howard: DO NOT LET HER IN!

Michelle: She's begging me.

Howard: YOU CAN"T HELP HER, NO ONE CAN!

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Family Heirlooms

There is a new update on the FAPT website, The latest message from Howard mentions that Megan's mom is trying to sell the family silverware to "a random stranger".

Of course, the best place to find random strangers is on craigslist, and Melodyman from unfiction found a listing matching the description above. Notice the notebook in the corner with Megan's name written on it!

Some people have tried emailing the seller to get more info, but no responses so far...

Also, while there is no map specifically attached to the ad, if you filter the search results by "map", the location of the item is revealed to be at an apartment complex called "The Terraces of Dearborn Park" near downtown Chicago.

Maybe there is another dead drop? People are already on their way to look, so we'll know soon!

10 Cloverfield Lane Soundtrack Available to Preorder

The soundtrack for 10 Cloverfield Lane is available to preorder on Amazon, and is expected to be released on March 11.

The music is by Emmy-award winning composer Bear McCreary, who is know for his music on Battlestar Galactica, Outlander and The Walking Dead.

There are 14 track listed, which add up to over an hour of creepy, suspenseful music.

Amazon has samples of all of the tracks available. Just click the play button right next to where is says "Sample this album".

The track titles may be considered a little spoilery (almost like a plot outline), so I have added them after the jump:

10 Cloverfield Lane IMAX Poster

Slashfilm has an exclusive 10 Cloverfield Lane poster created for the IMAX version by UK artist Kevin M Wilson (aka Ape Meets Girl). They also have a short interview with the artist.

Fun And Pretty Things Update - Cell Phone Problems

The FAPT website has been updated with a new message from Howard.

He mentions the phone found in the dead drop, but says that he hasn't heard from Megan yet, which probably means the phone is out of play now.

He also mentions the Soviets again, and that he used to be at SPAWAR, which stand for Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.
