  1. They cut down my five minute interview into like 20 seconds. I actually mentioned Cloverfield Clues and Unfiction Forums, but that and much more didn't make the cut :P

  2. lol ah well... next time a blogger gets onto their next feature on cloverfield they should wear a t-shirt saying "www.cloverfieldclues.com and Unfiction forums" just to stop it getting cut lol..What is CNBC? Im from the UK but they seem to just be throwing random bloggers onto the Cloverfield feature lol you think they are doing that because Abrams and people involved wont go on to talk about it?

Dennis about the flash decompiling i was going to decompile the Slusho website

  3. CNBC is a 24-hour news channel - like CNN, but it is more business focused.

  4. When they interviewed me last week on the same show, I spent about 5 minutes talking with them and got 7 seconds of airtime. That's just how it goes, I guess. I wasn't able to mention my blog either. No love for the Kentucky 1-18-08 fanboys!!

  5. Overnight would be a worse title than Monstrous.

Unless "Overnight" is somehow directly linked to 1-18-08.com, or slusho.jp, then I shall be skeptical.

  6. I don't know... "Overnight" isn't an AWESOME title, but it's not so bad. Also, naming a movie after the monster in said movie is kind of a cliche by now. Like chipmunky, I shall be skeptical. But I wouldn't be surprised.

  7. overnight isn't that bad...try coming up with a good name

    ReplyDelete
  8. it depends on who the movie is about...the monster or the characters

  9. How many big monster movies have there been? I can only think of godzilla and King Kong, they are both named after the monster and are both classic movies.. "Iconic" even i think i might cry if its going to be called Overnight

  10. ahahah. i just thought that i'd share... all those "ethan haas" followers were waiting for aug 1st for some big reveal.. well aug 1st came and went without anything. then aug 2nd came and the big reveal was what? a game.. a lousy game. ahahah. i was reading their forums and they're pretty upset.

dennis, i took the liberty of guiding some of the misguided movie souls/bloggers here to get the facts straight about 1-18-08

  11. I agree with Danny; it depends on whether its about the characters or the monster. And looking at J.J. Abrams' track record, his plots seem to be character-driven. "Lost" isn't about the smoke monster or even about the Dharma Initiative; it's about the survivors. And "Alias" wasn't about SD-6 or Rimbaldi, it was about Sidney Bristow and all the stuff she had to go through. So, even though he wants to make a big, wild monster, it doesn't HAVE to be about him.

  12. I agree that 'Overnight' isn't terrible, but I think a movie with so much hype could definitely use a title with more punch.

  14. Does the "overnight" relate back to the story of the children who asked about the filming in Conney Island and were told that the film turns out with everyone in NYC dying overnight. This could make sense looking at the poster. There are only two helicopters present in the AM and no other activity. It also fits in with my parasitic virus theory too. Has anyone seen the gray profile in between the buildings to the right if the damage yet? It is in best in the hi res pic http://www.darkculture.net/cloverfield/monstrous02.jpg

The airborne parasitic virus is visible here as the red matrix lines most prevalently emanating from the monsters ooze/blood on the SOL's back.

  17. they have accepted a lot of friends... yet im not sure if they're accepting from just anyone... i notice that the people who are leaving comments have the cast (er... the known cast characters) in their top 8/friends

  18. honestly it isn't a surprise if it is named 'overnight'

look at the other 'great' titles of the other shows lol

"lost" for people 'lost' on an island and 'alias' it makes sense, but looking at the other two titles something like this isn't soooo much of a shocker

i can't wait to see it, w/e it is called

  19. This might be related to JJ's project. It says the project name is "Don't Mess With the Zohan."

Here's the story it came from.

  20. Adam Sandler and Mariah Carey? Awww Jeeez!

    ReplyDelete
  21. ahahaha.
adam sandler, rob schneider, and mariah carey... wow.
the plot doesnt seem very "grabbing" either

    plot-
A Mossad agent fakes his death so he can re-emerge in New York City as a hair stylist.

umm... at least its not glitter 2 (dot dot dot)... or is it? lol

i think that could possibly be worse/more frightening than jj's monster

  22. Mariah Carey's voice is only something a whale could hear.

    ...it's all coming together now.

  23. I wonder if Rob Schneider will yell "You can do it!" when the monster attacks? Then hopefully he'll die.

  24. In the Unfiction forums, some posters have screenshots of them communicating with Beth, Rob, Hud, etc.

  25. There is some graffiti seen on the rooftop next to the door; you can only see it when the firball explodes as the crew is running off the roof (1:13)

I can't make out the top, but assuming it's 1967, I looked for 1967-2004 ACE, and ended up on this page:

    http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=1323194

A day later, i searched for ABZ (from the license plate on the SUV that gets crunched at the end) and ALSO get a hit from the same site again.

    http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=15838273

The site looks legit, but if you check the french intro page, one of the images is of a frog, and it's a research site... Might just be coincidence. There are also some other fishy things on it.

  27. The myspace profiles of all the people now have new friends, and new comments. It looks like they're from regular myspace people.

  28. Has anyone heard anything about that supposed second trailer that was played during the advanced screening of Stardust?

  29. Rob is the main dude.
What would we do without him?
    Have fun in Japan.

Slusho is not available in the states. I read a blog where someone stated Rob could be in marketing for Slusho and has probably ingested some along with JJ his brother, who mentions it on his myspace. Perhaps it could alter exposure to the monster. Lets take note that the on-site pics in the earlier blog reveal filming was on the lower east side on Orchard at Stanton which is roughly 10 blocks NE from the party. JJ, Rob and Lil were there in full costume from the trailer, it was night and there was devastation.

  30. So I was checking out the new photo at 1-18-08.com, and trying to new shake feature to see what was at the back of them. I suddenly noticed that at the back of the new picture, there was a bit of a shadow behind the word "and" and the letter "w" of wide. So I tilted the screen of my laptop back, and noticed the shadow deepened. I then cam to realize that the names Lascano, Platt and Robbie at the top also had a shadow. Then, I looked to the left of Lascano, and realized that there seemed to be some letters in the shadow. They seemed to be something like "eng", but I couldn't make out much more than that. So I turned the picture back around, and did the same leaning technique, and found that the cup in the bottom right hand corner ALSO had writing. But it clearly said 510. I went back to the other side, and the letters seemed to also resemble 510!! Awesome for me.

  31. i don't think theres anything behind the words on the back of the new pic

    this may help:

  32. Hay Arlo!

I don't see anything to the left of Lascano, but I _definitely_ do see something on the red cup, although I don't think it's "510", it looks like "slow" to me.

Cara, you probably need to have a laptop tilted backward in order to see what we see. Tilting the laptop screen gives one a sort of negative view of the pic.

    What do you think Arlo?

  33. Hey Dennis. Apparently somebody got an email from someone on set. I'm still skeptical... but all of his theories are probable.
