They definitely reshot some scemes. The guy entering the surprise party behind Rob is a totally different actor now. I wonder how much was redone after the teaser was shot.
Yah some people have been saying that the thing behind the tent with the girl is a guy in a contamination suit, but you can clearly tell now that it's one of the little monsters. As far as the monster, couldn't get that clear of a look at it, except for the 5 second scene of the army shooting in the street.
yeah, that back end of it definitely looks waaay too turtle-ish. i think people are right on with the contamination suit thing though. If those ARE monsters though, it's totally Nashi from Slusho. Makes me wonder if Nashi is the monster and the other "flavors" are monsters at other drilling sights for bold futura...
I think her body might explode and a lot off little monsters (big like a hand) get out of her. It seems really to be some kind of a parasite.
The shadows near her aren´t small monsters. Would the sitting guy in the front be so calm then? No. And it happens behind a tent, because in the film, that scene might be very torture-like so it´s not clearly to see to get P-13.
these are definetly guys in contamination suits and no monsters!!!
why? look at the trailer and the pic, posted at empireonline.com in the front, there is a guy, dressed in white. he looks down and seems to be working. if these would be really monsters, would you be still working only some feet away?
and the girl is getting real big very fast in the area of her belly. i would say there is a kind of virus mutation, that affects on people.
and why is the face of the soldier pixeled? this is because of the "blir witch project theme", cloverfield is build up to. the movie is made to look "real". so i would say, his face is pixeled because the "us army wants to protect the idendity of soldiers, that survived(or died)", know what i mean?
some one said, that you can see the eyes of the monster in the scene with the white horse: also wrong, because if you look at the trailer, the two lights don't move. remember the interview with the actress of the movie: people see things, that are just not there!!!
Okay. To finally prove that those ARE contamination suits, I took this shot. http://www.flickr.com/photos/minorhero/2048092022/
You can clearly see the light from the lights in the tent coming through the lens on the guy's suit there. No monster here. BUT. You CAN see the monster here, above the explosion, there is a definite form of some kind.
Yeah the girl behind the tent definatly seems to expand from the inside like something big is eating it's way out of her.
And did you notice in the scene near the end of the trailer when they are walking and it's dark and they hear a noise and the girl ask's what it was, the noise is like a buzzing and you can hear wings flapping which makes me think these smaller monsters have wings and can fly
the "turtle theory" would make sense, because it is coming from the sea. i do not say that it looks like a turtle, but i guess, it has some similaritys...
i mean, a thing, looking like a lion, is coming from the sea, where it lived till that day? i mean, come on...
Seems to move a little, explains the attack with navy (?) fighters, has a slight green colour and big forefeet that would explain the little feets under the "turtle back". Help me, please ^^
There are only three frames in which the monster appears clearly. The monster is definitely bipedal. There are what appear to be craters on the monster's back and a wing or fin.
as i said before, i think that they are looking for "beth", that's possibly why Rob says "i need to get to my car", so he could have a faster way to get to beth. I really hope that it doesn't get the R rating, seeing as i'm 17 in march. that would really piss me off...
Am i the only one that has realized the strange image when they are in the tunnel and they here a buzzing noise then it goes black and an image flashes it kinda looks like its in a house cause you can see a door but there is a very starange shadow plz look into to this if u hav not aalrdy
****Possible spoiler here**** Do you guys remember the alternate ending they shot in central park and was secretely taped and posted by "/film"? Well I dont want to spoil It to anyone but I looked at the video from back then again and that scene is in the trailer. The walls match and all. See for yourself. If the movie ends like that Im going to be P***ed
In regards to the the girl handled by the people in contamination suits, she's getting bigger because of lighting effects. Notice the light behind them?? yes.. movie magic.
Then the noise issue during that clip. You guys are reading way too much into it. It's a trailer. They add stuff to make it more exciting.
Here is my theory, based on the movie trailer and the related websites.
The deep sea ingredient is an organism that can live in a host. People have unwittingly consumed the organism in a Slusho drink. The monster is a sea creature that has consumed a large amount of this ingredient and has somehow mutated because of it. The monster is released from its deep frozen habitat by undersea mining. When it attacks NYC, the organism living in people wants to join with the larger amount of organisms inside the monster. That is why the woman explodes in the trailer. The organism is busting out.
Just wanted to say that if you watch the Trailer using quicktime player you can go frame by frame by hitting the laft and right arrows on your keyboard.
Also, if you go frame by frame it seems as though they are hinting that the fact that it is the girl in the black dress that swells up like a baloon.
At one point the blurred out face of the man says that "No one can help her now" and you can tell its that same girl. Next few shots is them going into a tent. Some soldiers grabbing the woman, and not long after you see the gils swell up behind the curtain.
yep, the hair style/type matches Lizzy Caplan's (curly and long). There is a picture of them all entering the army contamination thingy and she has a wound on her shoulder, but then again it does seem weird that her friend is just filming it all and not freaking out and trying to help her...?
Also, that very short sequence where the cameraman is looking down on the city and the jets fly past, I don't think the monster is in that shot. It just looks like smoke above the explosion in the street as its placed in the air directly above the flames. Theres just the one fleeting glimpse of the monster in the trailer I think, when it darts behind the building. If the whole film is shot like this then I don't expect to see a clear, full image of the monster.
MY BIG STUPID THEORY (i know its not real just funny)
The horse on the slusho website in underwater so i think seahorse
the white girl in the underground station with rob and the black girl has a seahorse necklace on.
BUT WHY DID SEA HORSES GO CRAZY?
beacause the guy seahorses are sick of having the babies in the family so they are giving human females a parasite so they will blew up like a pregnant lady, like the male seahorses had to indure.
The monster is teddy that mutated while he was away for "The Cause". Now he is looking for Jamie who consumed the deep sea ingredient he put in the box.
Since the ingredient is in the Slusho, those who consumed it are transforming slowly.
Kinda looks like an enormous trilobite... or some sort of crustacean. Either way it appears to have some sort of exoskeleton, or possibly a shell.. although I doubt the turtle/Gamera speculation. Should be damn cool!
if you guys go clip by clip you can see the girl thats behind the curtain legs didnt transform or change size. And Michael i really think that happy talk is very important.
alright, so i think i have lots of guesses here....based on looking at the trailer, and at the promo picks.... 1. The girl in the black dress is Jessica Lucas' Character, i think she is dating Mike Vogal's character...she is the one being taken away by the military, persumably to the helicopter, that she can be seen inside (with only military personell) while her friends are still on the ground 2. the chopper that takes off with Jessica Lucas' character is not the same as the one that crashes, as that one has the cameraman on it, and the view outside is daytime. 3. i still think lizzy caplan explodes, which is gross 4. I think they are going into the city to find beth. The first shot of the destruction, is the Times Warner Center, where one tower is leaning on the other....its diserted outside, which makes me think this is near the end of the film...in the promo shots they can all be seen crowding around an injured girl in a damaged room, the outside is at an odd angle, like they are in a "leaning" building....therefor, they are going from Greanwich Village, to the Times Warner Center to get beth, which so happens to be right across the street from...you've guessed it...CENTRAL PARK!!!
for everyone saying it is a mutated sea creature, didnt people say like a month or two that this was actually an alien? Or has that been proved wrong? I remember it was in a newspaper or something...

Hey I just watched the new trailer in HD at apple.com and did anyone notice in the scene where the two guys in the biohazard suits are restraining a girl behind a transparent curtain that it looks like something comes out of her stomache or she mutates.....
alrite, i figured out the editing of the trailers, about where the monster comes into play in the movie...
1) if you look at the first teaser trailer, when they go out of the building you can see a sign on the right of the street when the statue of liberty head is coming that says "The Textile..."
2) if you look at the second trailer, during the sequence of the army guys shooting at the monster, when we see the monster go by, you can see it's the same street they came out on, with "The Text..." visible, and same pattern of buildings, empire state building, etc... in this shot no bullets or rockets whatever are being shot at him.
3)They just used that shot of the monster for the second trailer in that army sequence, but the format in the movie will be as follows...
a) they go outside and someone says "i saw it, it's alive, it's huge"... obviously it's nearby, and you see the Text... as a hint of where they are
b) the statue of liberty get's thrown down the street... and you see the Text... as a hint of where they are
* c) in the movie, the camera will pan back from the staue of liberty's head to show the monster walking past in that shot from the second trailer... and you see the Text... as a hint of where they are
I mean this isn't anything drastic, but as a film major who loves to anaylze details in movies, this is 99.9% accruate to me
After seeing the full trailer, it occurred to me that the footage from the hand-cams could not only be a flashback, but could be part of an investigation from a team some time in the far future, since the opening paragraph makes reference to "central park" as if it wasn't common parlance to them.
Maybe this thing becomes unstoppable/and or the parasitic host infection scenario goes into big time epidemic.
The girl that explodes is unidentified, but the guard that is blurred...him and the girl near him is not lizzy. The sleeves on lizzy's dress are long, while that girl near the guard’s are sleeveless is wearing a sleeveless thing...check out the end of 1.00 and 1.01 then look at 1.02, you can see the girl leaning against the wall in 1.00 is not lizzy just look at the dresses
i dont know if anyone has pointed this out, but im pretty sure that the picture with Jessica Lucas (Lily) and Mike Vogel (Jason)from the blackbook interview is taken in the same convenience store seen the trailer that is being attacked..you can tell from the jerky on the counter and the rack behind them...i think jason works there and that maybe theres a slusho machine there and that maybe the reason for why he has a slusho t-shirt. dont know where to go on from there, but its just a thought..
Isn't Marlena the girl who explodes??? in the BlackBook pictures Marlena is taken by the bio-suits guys; in the trailer when Rob says "She's dying" we see Lizzy but not Marlena and the exploding girl's hair is very similar to Marlena's
Hey, we can finally get a good glimpse of the monster!
ReplyDeleteI´m a little bit disappointed. The back looks a little bit like a turtle. I hope, the front will be ways better. And I hope that I´m wrong. ^^
ReplyDeleteBut - (again) one of the best trailers ever. Better than the teaser.
They definitely reshot some scemes. The guy entering the surprise party behind Rob is a totally different actor now. I wonder how much was redone after the teaser was shot.
ReplyDeleteok so seriously WTF is up with the chicks body behind the tent? and that realluy really gross noise.

Seems to move a little, explains the attack with navy (?) fighters, has a slight green colour and big forefeet that would explain the little feets under the "turtle back". Help me, please ^^
HELL YEAH!!!
ReplyDeleteDownloading...
One thing I've noticed so far... The Statue of Liberty head was completely redone. It looks more realistic now.
thats right, some scene have been re-shot.
ReplyDeletethe head of the statue of liberty: you can compare it in this video:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=rHMsUr-s2iY
and the scene when rob comes to the party has been re-shot. look at the guy, following rob, it is a different person!!!
There are only three frames in which the monster appears clearly. The monster is definitely bipedal. There are what appear to be craters on the monster's back and a wing or fin.

I bet it's a shell.
ReplyDeleteA turtle's shell.
$50 says it's a turtle.
A turtle monster is relatively laughable, so it better be pretty friggin scary. I'd still like to see this movie be R rated, but oh well.
Gamera is really neat!
ReplyDeleteas i said before, i think that they are looking for "beth", that's possibly why Rob says "i need to get to my car", so he could have a faster way to get to beth. I really hope that it doesn't get the R rating, seeing as i'm 17 in march. that would really piss me off...
ReplyDeleteDifferent Kevin than me. :-p I really do NOT see a Turtle.

whatever it is it has a tail like a

scary as hell when we actually see
its "Face."

ReplyDelete1 more thing i must say Huge monsters can not be scary to a viewer of the movie only the characters in the movie that are living it.
ReplyDeleteso dont get pissed when you see the monster and say hes not scary
godzilla isnt scary if you watch the movie but if a 100 story creature was in your face you would be.

ReplyDeleteTHE MONSTER DOES SHOOT FIRE BALLS THE THEORY THAT THE FIRST TRAILERS FIRE BALLS WHERE UNDERGROUND SEWING BLOWING UP IS WRONG
ReplyDeletelook right after the army attacks
the main characters run down in the train station and you see a explosion why would the army blow themselves up i ask you?
Also, if you go frame by frame it seems as though they are hinting that the fact that it is the girl in the black dress that swells up like a baloon.

Well, this doesn't mean much, but I know what unit the black army guy is in. He has a 27th infantry brigade patch on his shoulder.
ReplyDeletesorry, that's the only new thing i could come up with!
Kinda looks like an enormous trilobite... or some sort of crustacean. Either way it appears to have some sort of exoskeleton, or possibly a shell.. although I doubt the turtle/Gamera speculation. Should be damn cool!

ReplyDeletealright, so i think i have lots of guesses here....based on looking at the trailer, and at the promo picks....
ReplyDelete1. The girl in the black dress is Jessica Lucas' Character, i think she is dating Mike Vogal's character...she is the one being taken away by the military, persumably to the helicopter, that she can be seen inside (with only military personell) while her friends are still on the ground
2. the chopper that takes off with Jessica Lucas' character is not the same as the one that crashes, as that one has the cameraman on it, and the view outside is daytime.
3. i still think lizzy caplan explodes, which is gross
4. I think they are going into the city to find beth. The first shot of the destruction, is the Times Warner Center, where one tower is leaning on the other....its diserted outside, which makes me think this is near the end of the film...in the promo shots they can all be seen crowding around an injured girl in a damaged room, the outside is at an odd angle, like they are in a "leaning" building....therefor, they are going from Greanwich Village, to the Times Warner Center to get beth, which so happens to be right across the street from...you've guessed it...CENTRAL PARK!!!
woot!
I just have one question...
ReplyDeletefor everyone saying it is a mutated sea creature, didnt people say like a month or two that this was actually an alien? Or has that been proved wrong? I remember it was in a newspaper or something...
I see about 5-6 usable monster frames in the trailer showing about a 200+ foot sea monster (also confirmed as it is destroying a bridge over water) with long tenticles and possibly an exterior film or casing, no smoke (jellyfish-like) and, of course, the girl's rapid mutation ads to the ongoing mystery of this being the best monster movie in decades or a bad Blair Witch with too much dialogue. We'll see
