Interesting to note here is that Rob is using a different camera from the one shown in the 1-18-08 site picture. And also to note are Lily's scars in her arm. They look as if they were made by claws.
I've been thinking over the "smaller monster" concept, which this new picture of them trying to block the door with scratches on them seems to nearly confirm. The thing I'm wondering is: what's a scientifically realistic monster that could fit this description, as well as tying in with Slusho + the gift next to Jaime's bed + the giant monster. The idea of Slusho drinkers transforming into clawed monsters doesn't fit -- too magical/implausible. Here's what I came up with: Slusho is a delicious liquid they're extracting from under the sea. What it turns out is that this liquid contains the tiny eggs of a giant mother creature, which comes to town after maybe the first major boatload of Slusho ingredients arrives in New York harbor, and along the long sea journey some of these creatures hatched and call their mother with pheremones or sound or something. What do ya think? Any holes in this theory?
hey pink, to run with what you mentioned about eggs in slusho or whatever... there are many species of parasitic insects (wasps in particular) that lay eggs in a host and as the larvae develop, they consume the host until it is dead and they mature. wasn't one if the reported titles/sites "parasite movie"? just a guess. -tubby
What I was thinkin' is that Teddy works for Slusho and gives her some of this "sea nectar" as a gift and as a result she becomes one of the first victims/hosts for the smaller monsters and she probably dies in a video on the Jamie + Teddy site, or very early on in the movie if she's in it at all.
Maybe the Slusho slogan refers to the fact that it takes six doses of that drink to ensure you're a host to one or more of these things.
Who knows? I actually hope I'm wrong, because as much as I follow this site and think about this stuff I still want to be surprised if possible.
Well I remember reading somewhere about Zombie like creatures or something like that, maybe this parasite lays some stuff in humans, and the humans are the little monsters running around causing havoc. If your on slusho... ur a zombie...?
Come to think of it, is that second pic from the "supposed" youtube central park scene where Beth and Rob buy the farm? I bet the ending has changed since it made it on youtube but I wouldnt doubt if this was from that scene. It might also be from the trailer when Rob was speaking in the cam. Just thinking out loud here
we know one thing, there are people in containment suits. Which means there is something believed to infect or spread. Which could float back to this parasite theory. But what so we do in a state of an emergency? Panic and remain extra careful. Which means there may not even be mini monsters, infected, ext. They may be trying to escape the people in bio suits? They were part of the first attack as far as we know. We might not even see the monster, after all this movie is low budget.
I like your theory about the eggs and monster mother revenge Pink! I wonder if J.J. got his idea for this film from watching the Poppler episode of Futurama? :o)
WHere does the myspace pages not being updated in a month fit into all this? meanwhile the Teddy videos still come out? Was that their only purpose? I thought like most everyone that the week before we would all get a bullertin on myspace about Robs surprise party. I did read that a lot of people who were denied adds complained to Paramount about their marketing for the movie selectivly discriminating against peoples myspace adds and that they were going to boycott the movie for not being added
