Tagruato Website Unhacked

Tagruato removed the "evil ganu" photo, and replace it with this message - 只今改装中 - which roughly translates to "Currently Under Construction"!

  1. Oh my gawd. I was just in the middle of explaining the Cloverfield ARG to someone and told them to go to tagruato.jp, and I saw it was changed! You guys beat me to it by a few seconds though...

  2. no clue man...im guessing either danger or caution

  6. Merely now in the midst of remodelling....kinda like the area formerly known as central park will be after 1-18-08. haha.

  7. Interesting. I'm kind of curious, or just dumb, about the timeline that the Tagruato Corp and/or the site is supposed to be on in relation to the movie. Does the corp exist now, and the problems and hacking are in the present, then the attack happens in our present, and then the movie is a reflection of the future looking back on the past, via the camcorder of the attack? Thanx.

  8. The corporation(within the movie story) exists now, and are currently mining all over the world.

Nobody knows about the attack yet...the trailer makes it seem that the attack happened in the past because the tape was "found" in Central Park.

  9. well the pics on 1-18-08.com are clearly timestamped for 1-18, so it can't be that much of a "flashback"

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thanks, right, the attack I guess will "happen" this January. But doesn't the opening text in trailer #2 suggest that someone in the future finds these videos (for our movie viewing pleasure!) or something to that effect? And then we get to see how the story unfolded? Right now, Central Park is called Central Park. But in the future, after the incident, it's renamed. Tx. :-)

  11. Hey guys, I've been watching for a while, but never had anything to contribute, until I was browsing around IMDB last night. Check it out.

  12. good find nicole! i haven't seen that ever. this is really interesting... i'm just sorta ticked though. it better be some kind of crazy mutated turtle, and the whale better be like the scariest thing ever. i mean really. i need to be scared to the point i pee in my seat.

but i really think this is all coming together. the "cause" is obviously acting up, and i think they'll do something stupid to "release" the monster. maybe. i dunno.

  13. omg jus saw slusho on heroes like a min ago, yayayayayayay.

    ReplyDelete
  14. yo hasnt anyone else realized that central park is a dam park and filled with plants and greenery...hense the code name "Cloverfield" which is wha they call the site in the future when they find that tape...just a theory that makes the most sence

    ReplyDelete
  15. tagruato is back up...looks like it did before the hack

    ReplyDelete
  16. Just saw Slusho! on the new episode Heroes, too. XD That was great... and she spills it all on her lap. Nice.

    ReplyDelete
  17. yeah its back up round the same time slusho appeared on Heroes

  21. According to google images... the large mythical turtle thingy isn't really photogenic, exept for these two pictures...

    http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/200612/04/04/f0024204_1013497.jpg

    http://www.ffcompendium.com/art/2-adamantoise-a.jpg

it has two names: Aspidochelone (or) Adamantoise

The concept of the turtle, in a somewhat fantasy game, is large (duh), walks on four legs, and has large spikes on its back. I don't remember spikes on the creatures back in the second trailer.

Do with it as you will...

  22. this ones pretty cool too...

  24. Newest episode of Heroes had Elle drinking out of a Slusho cup in her car. Weird stuff.

  25. Tagruato is back up like a hack never happened

  26. Interesting. The shell has the same lotus blossom look as the "seabed nectar" symbol on the Slusho! site.

I wouldn't give that too much weight though-- the lotus flower is a common cliche in Asian art and media.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If the thing did have spikes, like in the picture you provided, then they'd be towards the top of the shell.. I don't think they would be visible in the (extremely small, too small and quick to rule out a theory) shot of the monster in the trailer.

    ReplyDelete
  28. wow nicole that sure sounds an aweful lot like the monster if you ask me. nice find! dang missed Heroes for Slusho! shoot..

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes but "the lotus represents purity of body, speech, and mind, floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire" to the buddhist mind.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelumbo_nucifera

isn't that what the secret ingredient in slusho is supposed to do for all people?

  30. So you bought the parafFun.com domain name too? You sly dog.

    Keep up the good work.

  31. your right Meliz...

I just think the lotus flower and slusho have alot in common... does anyone else have an opinion?

  32. Following the Lotus-Turtle connection, I googled "Lotus and Turtle" and came up with a few hits regarding the Lotus Sutra and the One Eye Turtle. An interesting passage reads:

"Thus we have been born in countless numbers of countries where we have undergone innumerable sufferings and occasionally enjoyed pleasures, but we have never once been born in a country where the Lotus Sutra has spread. Or even if we might have happened to be born in such a country, we did not chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. We never dreamed of chanting it, nor did we ever hear others chant it.

To illustrate the extreme rarity of encountering this sutra, the Buddha likened it to the difficulty of a one-eyed turtle encountering a floating sandalwood log with a hollow in it. To give the essence of this analogy: Eighty thousand yojana down on the bottom of the ocean there lives a turtle. He has neither limbs nor flippers. His belly is as hot as heated iron while the shell on his back is as cold as the Snow Mountains. What this turtle yearns for day and night, morning and evening--the desire he utters at each moment--is to cool his belly and warm the shell on his back."

May be way off, but food for thought.

  33. maybe its my comp but it loks like the slusho site might have something going on. the history page doesnt load anymore

    ReplyDelete
  34. History page works fine for me. ^^ must be your comp.

One last thing. The lotus blossom on the Slusho site that represents the nectar is definitely the Buddhist symbol, often pictured with the Sanskrit for "Om" in the center.

  35. that's sick...

the "eighty thousand yojana" is equal to 320,000 feet down. the deepest point in the ocean is 36,000 feet in the mariana trench (pacific ocean) (next to japan) ... Tagurato has a deep sea drilling station called the Suinin Station that is located IN the Mariana trench... thats not coincidence...

  36. Booyah. I feel like I've actually contributed, then!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I went to the IMDB page link and didn't buy it. The giant mythological turtle name they found was the username of someone supposedly representing "the cause" against Tagurato. Why would they name themselves after the monster? How do they know it exists? And if they do know it exists, why drop dumb little hints about it instead of just warning everyone that the monster is there?

    ReplyDelete
  38. because nothing in this whole viral marketing campain has been simple and to the point... there's no reason for them to start now... plus... this is entertaining lol!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Even if the link is a fake (which chances are, it is), it doesn't rule out the turtle-monster possibilty.

Although, I have to say, a turtle monster wouldn't be my first choice for scariest monster ever.

    ReplyDelete
  40. leave it to JJ to suprise us with something like a mythical japanese deep-sea turtle that terrorizes ny city...

thats probablly what makes this so cool sounding... its like the ninja turtle version of godzilla really... if thats the way it is

    ReplyDelete
  41. Just so everyone knows... Tagruato.blogspot.com is OOG. But it's not a gamejack... it's more like fan-fiction.

    ReplyDelete
  42. i do not want to see a giant (grew from adding slusho to his pizza) peed off (cause the pizza tasted horrible) teenage mutant ninja turtle destroying new york movie! Please no....

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree. A turtle/whale monster just doesn't sound scary. With the excitment and anticipation i have for this movie, it would be devastating to be let down like that.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Here's a better screen grab of the creature (you can decide for yourself what it is):

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think a turtle can be scary, if they do it right.

If there was a gigantic turtle destroying my city I'd be scared.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ok, im just gonna throw this out there: it cant be a turtle.
If you watch the creatures back closely in the trailer (like i have), there is NO hint of a shell, nor is there any back of his head.
That overhang ur seeing is an illusion created by a darkspot on his back, where for some reason there is no lighting.
If you track his back as he moves towards that well lit building, ull see that the spot which creates the over hang fills in. From the beggining to end of that clip, all u see is a large span of his back, possibly some neck, tho hed be ridiculously top heavy if there is, and there is no spot that juts out and suggests a shell. its more like a t rex's back only more hunched over.
Other than that, u see both legs, MAYBE some tail, tho i doubt it, and an ambiguous lump on the right, underneath the monster, that moves behind the building before the camera focuses.

...just throwing all that out there.

  47. With CGI and a little imagination and the fact that the actors are not getting paid millions, surely JJ can
come up with something we haven't seen before, even if it is Cthulu or whatever, it doesn't have to be a frog or turtle or anything in the current
animal kingdom. My vote is for something like those white, translucent lizards that you can see their insides. A giant one of those would make me run and hide.
