Paramount Cease and Desist

I received a Cease and Desist email from Paramount today. :)

Paramount has learned that you are reproducing, displaying and distributing the “Cheese” call sheet on your website
...
Paramount hereby demands that you immediately remove the “Cheese” call sheet from your website.

The funny thing is, I haven't even read the call sheet, let alone posted it here. I only posted a link to the story in NY Magazine. I guess they didn't bother to actually look at my blog! LOL

I guess this means the call sheet was authentic. I'm glad I didn't read it!

BTW, I just checked NY Magazine, and they still have it posted up.

UPDATE: I talked to the lawyer who represents Paramount, and he was a really nice guy. The C&D letter is definitely legitimate, but he wouldn't comment on the call sheet. BTW, Slashfilm also received the same letter.

  1. Dennis delete those posts lol..

Slushozoom.com and youcantdrinkjustsix.com are Out Of Game and made by fans. And they dont even attempt to look like a website made in the 21st century. Extremely poor attempts to fake a website lol

  3. Damn it! I read that thing not really knowing what it was and found out the end of the movie! I was hoping it was a fake. :( Oh well, I wasn't that surprised at the ending.

  4. Now why would the crew member do a thing like that? Jesus.

  5. it may not be authentic; it may have been flagged for a smaller trademark issue. And even if it is legit; just because its the last day of filming doesn't mean its the end of the movie. Filmmakers shoot out of order on things like this all the time.

  6. It's a little odd NY Mag still has theirs up. It's the source article so it would be the first to get the letter I would think. Maybe they got it and told Paramount to leave them alone !

  8. not to worry...it really didn't say much. it basically just said what we knew in the videos that were released from the central park scenes, in the tunnel.

    very, very little.

  9. I'm sure it's not worth the trouble, but you could always tell Paramount that you can't "remove the 'Cheese' call sheet" from your website because it technically isnt taking up space on the server you are utilizing eh?

  10. I hate this... if what I read/saw was the end of the movie... man, we're looking right at another SUCKIN' Blair Witch Project Ending.

  11. Well, first say let me say that I talked to the Paramount lawyer today, and he was a really nice guy. I explained to him that I didn't have the call sheet on my website, and he checked it out and said I was fine. He didn't want anyone posting the image, or linking directly to the PDF on NYMag.com.

As for NY Mag not pulling down the photos, they are running a real business, so I'm sure they get WAY more email than me. Anyone can fake a C&D letter, so they would have to have their lawyers check it out, etc, etc.

With that said, I tend to agree that whatever was on the call sheet was probably NOT the real ending.

  12. Lets hope Its not the ending... heh heh

Although if what we know about the plot is true, that It is a camera discovered after the monster's attack then I think the ending might be similar to that of Blair Witch Project. Do your math. heh heh

  13. If that's really the ending, it's going to suck big time. Although, I have a theory. In one of the scene listings it says (no spoilers here) "blah blah blah" and beneath is "blah blah blah- Alternate ending". So maybe they've shot an ending but are considering ending the movie in the alternate "blah blah blah" way.

  14. Perhaps some of the filming in NY is just fake 'Cheese' to lead us to false assumptions as to what the movie is about. Paramount baited us with the cheese, and some are us are falling for it.

  15. John, sounds logic what you said. Lets just pray...

  16. Quick question, though - this call sheet has been up almost a month, and I'm wondering why, if Paramount was so quick to shoot C&D orders to linkers, they haven't totally raped NYMag.com for still having the call sheet up?

That smells a little fishy to me...
