Myspace Update - HUD

HUD has added a new comic-related blog entry. He has selected the comic book characters that he wants to use, and now is ready to collectively write a story:
Gather ’round the campfire, kiddies! It’s time to write a story!

If you're one of the like seven super cool people in the world who have been paying attention to my blog, you know that I'm trying to get an interactive, comic book-esque story going with characters created by independent Myspace artists. I've gotten a pretty good response, and I think we've fielded enough characters to begin our story.

Here's the cast: Statik, Captain Anonymous (maybe we can come up with a name for him in the story), I've dubbed these three Vang, Gustav Grosto, and Spiggot, Koffy, ENDOMAN the Dreamtraveller, X-73, Behemoth

Here's how it's gonna work: I'll begin the story, and then it will up to one of you to add on a little bit more, and then the next person, and so on. If you want to post pics of new characters, we'll weave them in.

And so it begins...

"What the hell is that?"
"What?"
"That... thing, floating up ahead. Do you see it?"
Gustav shrugs. "Probably just a discarded fuel casing."
"That is not a fuel casing," scoffs Spiggot. He adjusts the trajectory controls on the zeppelins the main board. "I'm soaring in for a closer look."
"Don't even think about it," warns Gustav. "We have a very specific mission, and it does not include picking up random bits of junk floating around the atmosphere. If Vang finds out you're changing course--"
"Vang is in deep slumber mode, she's not gonna find out. Just chill out and get the Arm ready."
The zeppelin approaches the object. Spiggot squints out into the dark cloudy sky. "Whoa... Gustav, I think it's a person!"
It is a person, just hanging in the air, motionless, as if they were lying on some unseen blanket. "H-how can that be?" says Gustav, astonished. "They're just… floating in mid-air, three thousand feet up?"
"They look dead. Don't you think?"
"Only one way to make sure," replies Gustav, already swinging the Extraction Arm out to retrieve the floating body.
Gustav and Spiggot rush to the cargo bay as the Arm gently lays the figure down. They stop short with a surprised gasp.
"It's a woman!" sputters Spiggot. "And she's really hot!"
The unconscious form before them is a beautiful woman, blonde, dressed in futuristic battle gear. A tag on her shoulder reads 'X-73'. Gustav rushes to her side and presses his fingers to her neck. "Nothing. No pulse. I think she's—"
Just then, the woman springs gracefully to her feet, simultaneously slamming Gustav to the ground with her super strong legs. A large, terrifying Blaster forms out of her wrist holster, and she presses it to Gustav's throat.
"Where is he?" she demands of Spiggot.
Spiggot holds up his hands, at a loss.
"Where is Behemoth?"

OK, that's it. Who's got the next page?
Meanwhile, Rob left a comment for HUD:

That's pretty cool, what you are doing with people's comic book characters. Am I allowed to play, or do am I still banned from the discussion until I read The Watchmen?

  3. I wrote HUD to complete his story lets see if he posts it... lol

  4. Note how the last line is "Where is Behemoth?" Fits in with that whole three monster theory that was going around a while back...

    ReplyDelete
  5. also note the "Three-Thousand feet up" reference to '3'

  6. Perhaps the Cloverfield monster is a fake, ala Ozymandius' monster in Watchmen?

  7. Actually, when I first saw the teaser opening night of transformers, and knew nothing about it... for about 5 seconds i was CONVINCED it was a Watchmen movie teaser... until the statue of liberty thing... that and i realized essentially spoiling the huge "plot twist/climax" would be a really stupid teaser idea

  10. Hmmm... I have definetely found Jamie she is in the trailer. Right when the earthquake occurs you can see the bar and the blonde dude bartending to the left you can see Marlena and for a few split seconds you can see jamie hlding a what? A Camera...

  11. It looks more like the "Rob's Awesome" girl to me, but her holding that camera lends support to her being Jamie.

I'm thinking she may in fact have been the Jamie character when they filmed the trailer, but they decided to use a different actress now (The one on MySpace and in the Jamie and Teddy video).

  12. Dennis I agree, that has to be Jamie... So far she's the character besides Rob who's been getting the most buzz... She has to be in the trailer... Besides shes with Marlena isn't that her "Main Dude"?

  14. The obvious question is what does the back of the picture say (it is apparently in Chinese)?

    ReplyDelete
  15. It probably is the recipe for whatever is on the front of the picture but it looks like some additional writing.

  16. I agree, the words in the back are a recipe in japnese for the food in the pic. Also you can hear the roar on that page after a few minutes. This is new , isn't it?

  17. Does anyone else notice that theres time on the new pic...idk if that has anything to do with it though.

  23. ody, thank you for viewing! I'll introduce this week's delicious recipe. Please make sure to keep this one cold!

*Skinless chicken breast - 2, cut in halves
*Soumen (a kind of japanese noodle) - 10 oz.
*Watercress - 1/2 cup cut into small strips
*Turnip - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
*Shiitake (japanese mushrooms) - 1/2 cup
    *Chicken stock - 1/3 cup
*Sake (japanese rice wine) - 2 tbsp.
    *Sugar - 1/2 tsp.
    *Ocean-bottom crab - one

In a small saucepan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake, and sugar. Chill it until it becomes cold. Grill the chicken breast on both sides for about 8 minutes, and then chill. Boil the noodles for about 3 minutes, and then run under cold water until chilled. Mix the watercress, turnips, and mushrooms into the soumen. Slice the chicken thinly and arrange on top of the soumen mix. Just before you serve, put the crab in the sauce and pour over the noodles generously.

    Go go Oishii ("delicious") Chef!

    There you go...

  24. OMG thanks a bunch joe. there's a hell of a lot of "chill"ing going on in that paragraph... anything to do with slusho?

  26. NEW PICTURE UP AT 1-18-08.com!
Asian chef holding up a pan with pizza on it? Japanese writing on back of the picture, can anyone translate?

    ReplyDelete
  27. In the back of the new picture, what does the 3912 mean on the bottom right corner?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I emailed about the number 3912 last night. They didn't seem to think it was anything but a coincidence but... when you search on 3912 the top hit on Google is a site called Entrez Gene. It doesn't take you to the home page but it does talk about 3912/or LAMB1 which is a gene found in homosapiens. The scientific notes state that this enzyme affects base cell structure membranes. A factor in metastasis (the process in which disease spreads from cell to cell- like cancer etc.) It may be a coincidence but one of the working titles was parasite. Even though it is most likely not a "new viral" site it may be a link to the whole Bold Futura and Yoshida Medical Research clues. Manipulating enzyme 3912 to alter genes? Who knows?

  29. I find it interesting that the one character in Hud's little story that gets more than one picture is Behemoth--the first one computer-rendered, the second one from "Jim." "Jim" has also contributed to the storyline.

So far Behemoth is a two-headed creature with doubled limbs, it heals incredibly fast and is incredibly strong, and (oddly enough) it wants to know why it exists.

Too soon to tell, but I think we might just have the first sighting of our Creature.
