Yoshida Brings Happy Flavor to Big AppleDid Tagruato create the monster, and now Ganu coming to NYC to witness the attack?
Ganu Yoshida left with much fanfare today as he boarded his private Tagruato jet that will fly him directly to New York city in the United States. He will be meeting with acclaimed CEO Glen Warner, owner of BevVo, the largest privatized water manufacturer in the world. "Glen has many ideas for distributing Slusho! through pre-established public waterways," said Yoshida, "I wanted to come here myself to discover them."
Yoshida will spend four days in New York before continuing across the United States on a tour of potential Slusho! manufacturing plants.

Hmmm.. sound to me like this guy is coming to america to se if the monster works ... maybe this is a militery contract for a new wepon that went wrong .... just a thought...
ReplyDeleteHmmmm
"Clover" is going after Ganu and follows him to NYC!!!
ReplyDeleteThe witnessing is possible, because the people who work for Tagruato seem so cold and heartless. The fellas in the 'Chopper in the earlier video didn't seem shaken up at all that Chuai was being taken down.
ReplyDeleteI googled BevVo, but I didn't find anything.
ReplyDeleteFirst Post!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone think that Ganu will be in NYC when Clover attacks, and Ganu could be killed?
Oh, I see it now: spilling Seabed's Nectar thru water pipelines pissed off the monster against NYC...
ReplyDeleteI said it a LONG time ago. That picture of Yoshida was just to villainous for him to not play a part. He'll come to try and STOP it or cover it up, and fail...
ReplyDeleteObviously.
Hola, this is my first post on this blog, started a profile just to comment here.
ReplyDeleteI think that the mini-monsters either just chase Rob & Co. into the subway, or they're trying to get to the subway to get to the waterway, where they'll be delivering the Slusho!.
Of course, that only works if the Monster is addicted to SBN, and if they actually start transporting Slusho! down there in the three days until the movie....
naw... this monster was not created by them... they just accidentally woke it up... but what's up with the water ways?
ReplyDeleteWhat if the monster somehow is specifically targetting Ganu? Mayeb Ganu was at Chuai just before the attack, now in New York? Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteIf the you knew a monster would attack the city would you go to it? I think some people are theorizing that Tarugato is more evil than it actually is. The events of the film are more likely the result of people not caring about the consequences of their actions, not any malice or forethought.
ReplyDeleteMy theory is Ganu might appear in the film and this is the reason he is in New York.
So if this is all happening in real time, I guess this means that Ganu will be in NYC the time of the attack eh?
ReplyDeleteSince JJ has stated that the monster has been down there for thousands of years, its unlikely the Tagruato created it.
ReplyDeleteFirst post? Woo hoo! Googled Bevvo, but nothing :(

I still don't think Tagruato deliberately created the monster. My suspicion is, much like the dwarves in Lord of the Rings, they drilled too deeply and awakened it by accident. I think that after the Chuai disaster they were just hoping it would go away of its own accord; meantime they could pin the blame for the accident on an environmentalist group that had been a thorn in their side for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he isn't following the monster...perhaps the monster is following HIM (or at least secret ingredient in Slusho).
ReplyDeleteThat could explain why the Chui station and the cargo vessel were attacked\destroyed...
That would be most excellent if Ganu is seen in the film being stomped by the monster. All hype aside, I'm looking forward to this movie.
ReplyDeleteThis Ganu guy is pretty daring. Usually running anything but water through public waterways is sacrilege. If he can pull it off, I suppose these guys are truly evil.
ReplyDeleteThere's a big discrepancy between the viral marketing and the movie. If he's coming to see the monster attack, he's off quite a bit.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I would assume this means that the ARE keeps going after the movie's release. I'm thinking that Mr. Ganu bites it while in NY. Tagruato expresses great sorrow and blames TIDOWave, etc, etc, etc.
ReplyDeleteFirst...maybe
ReplyDeleteHow much more viral campaign can they squeeze out before the eighteenth??
- The Newly Ragin' Cajun -
has anyone put any thought into tagruato’s subsidaries? yoshida medical research in particular… “deep sea bioprospecting and genetic research?” For all we know the chuai station started drilling for deep sea nectar but then switched to bioprospecting when they discovered the creature? I havent seen anything discussed about these other subsidaries of tagruato, but they might be something big
ReplyDeleteHo ho...what's he up to now...
ReplyDeleteHmm... seems pretty unlikely that if they knew what was being unleashed on NY that he'd put himself in the city just to witness it... seems a bit on the dangerous side.
ReplyDeleteDistribute Slusho! through pre-established waterways? Sounds like the epidemic in Batman Begins... I feel like that definitely has to have some implication on the monster coming.
ReplyDeleteomg, has anyone considered that Ganu may in fact *be* the monster? I mean, we know he's evil and corrupt... maybe he's like a werewolf, in that he only turns into the monster after midnight? Once the clock strikes twelve at Rob's going away party, Ganu, who's in New York at that stage, turns into Clover, and lays the smackdown on Brooklyn? lol
ReplyDeleteHighly unlikely, but what the hell!
Is the cameraman's name "HUD"? There is an implication that people can be bitten by the monster. This implies that there must be 2 types of monster, one being smaller than the other. Otherwise, a chomp from a "GODZILLAESQUE" creature would completely obliterate an average sized human. The implication of being bitten also infers that an infection could be transmitted. Could the smaller of the two be an offshoot of the larger or a smaller infected creature? Being able to kill people underground and above, would imply being in 2 places at once. Being small enough to get underground, would lead to the notion that this is how a monsters bite wouldn't destroy a human body but rather infect it. If this is the case and the cameraman's name is "HUD"? Could the irony be that "HUD" stands for "HUGE URBAN DESTROYER" and "HUMANOID UNDERGROUND DWELLER"???????????????
ReplyDeletemaybe he Knows the monster is following him and is luring him to the great U.S.A.
ReplyDeleteGanu Is in town For a press conference And Rob Will Translate. But I do Like The idea of The Monster Being A weapon And Ganu Is here To See How It Works.
ReplyDeleteSlusho in the waterways? O_o
ReplyDeleteI think that's a little too much zoom.
How they're going to incorporate all this into the movie is what I'm (still) especially curious about.
3 days till! 8D
I always liked to think that HUD was a reference to Heads-Up Display.... ya know, since the audience are seeing things from his perspective, he is the "heads-up display" for the movie, if you will.

my friend's guess is that the name "HUD" is in reference to
From Wikipedia
"A head-up display, or HUD, is any transparent display that presents data without obstructing the user's view. Although they were initially developed for military aviation, HUDs are now used in commercial aircraft, automobiles, and other applications."
It seems rather reflective of the way & perspective in which the movie is shot from the point of view from the camera of a real life person who is experiencing the event.
It is entertaining to see your comments when I have been completely spoiled over the last two days.
ReplyDeleteDo you really enjoy speculating when the word is out on other sites?
I can't speak for Ganu, but the monster is attacking because it hates America's freedom.
ReplyDeleteBut I thought Greg Grunberg wasn't going to be in the movie!
ReplyDeleteman I know what it is... it was a typo... its actually GROVERFIELD and the monster is GROVER from sesame street all fucked up and coming down off a bender of Kaitei no mitsu, after dropping off Lyndsey, and Paris, he decided to go for a slice in Brooklyn... BOOOM there you go thats the movie... you don't even have to watch it...

Well now we know the scene that the "Hey Rob!" comes from in that one TV commercial.
I'm starting to think of how this whole viral marketing campaign could possibly be one huge metaphor. For example, maybe Ganu equates to the monster, and does end up entering NYC, like the monster is supposed to. Then, it mentions that Ganu goes on to tour potential Slusho! plants across the nation, much like the monster may go on a cross-country killing spree.
ReplyDeleteI have to believe that Tagruato (or Gabu more specifically) is hunting this creature & that his "drilling" stations were just previous attempts.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the monster is GANU YOSHIDA"S MOTHER NORIKO THAT WENT MISSING YEARS AGO????????????????????
ReplyDeleteProbably not, but it could be one reason why Ganu goes to NYC.
One FACT is that it says he is going to NYC to tour various sites for potential slusho plants.
Its funny that the company is BevVO, like the chain BevMO! hahahahaha.
http://www.bevmo.com/productlist.asp?area=home
Perhaps the tanker IS full of SLUSHO or KAITEI NO MITSU sent by Ganu to New York. The tanker could be leaking, which brings the hungry monster to NYC.
Remember, the stuff is yummy to us, so it's probably YUMMY for the Monster too!
Melodyman said..."Since JJ has stated that the monster has been down there for thousands of years, its unlikely the Tagruato created it."
ReplyDeleteI agree, Tagruato didn't create it. But where did you hear JJ say that Melodyman?
Smokey671 said..."Maybe the monster is GANU YOSHIDA"S MOTHER NORIKO THAT WENT MISSING YEARS AGO????????????????????"
Smokey671, I'm disappointed in that comment! That's highly unlikely. But what you said that the tanker is full of slusho, that's a thought.
If you go to http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809873032/video/5608811 and watch "On the Roof" The woman talks about an "oil tanker capsizing in the middle of the harbor near the SOL" Maybe that oil tanker is full of the "special ingredient" in slusho and that's what the Monster is attracted to. And maybe if the Chuai Station woke up the monster, it also stirred up the "special ingredient" at the sea floor and It liked it. And we all know that "you can't drink just six" lol. It's a far off possibility.
I also believe that the thousand-year-old-monster is some kind of monster whale. When you hear the roar on 1-18-08.com, it sounds like a very big, very mean, monster whale. And also with all the roaring in the trailers, it sounds like a whale. I so can't wait till it comes out!
FLUFFY I was joking...see it says PROBABLY NOT.
ReplyDeleteLook at the new Manga, its interesting! TAG has their own ships.
FLUFFY!!?!!?!? PLease watch the spoilers. Even your little "the monster has been ..." is one. I don't wanna know anything!
ReplyDeleteSG-
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't want to know a thing, you wouldn't be on here.
JJ made that statement in one of the interviews (I believe it was a yellow pepper interview), and if I remember correctly he said millions of years.
Hud doesn't mean or stand for anything. His name is Hudson, Hud is just short for that.
ReplyDeleteGanu Yoshida is in NYC to get back what he feels is rightfully his. Since he "discovered" the creature, and obviously using it to create the Seabed's Nectar for Slusho, he wants to get it back. That's why the executives that were in the chopper during the Chuai disaster didn't flinch, they know what the hell is down there and they need it. It all comes down to the bottom line. Ganu is there to see what he's dealing with. If you look at the recent picture at www.1-18-08.com there are military jets and boats attacking the creature at night. The only thing that needs to be answered: Is that military personnel Japanese or American or Tagruatos own defense team? Remember, there were fully armed S.W.A.T. team personnel during the Chuai disaster. I truly do believe that it isn't American, since they don't know what the creature is when it attacks NYC. Ganu is there to get it back...
ReplyDeleteA la the Green Goblin (from the Spider-man MOVIE timeline), Ganu eats some of his product to show just how safe it is, and becomes the monster.
ReplyDeleteIt may be possible that Ganu IS the Monster. Maybe he has experimented on himself with the 'seabed's nectar'. Or, maybe its his mother in a mutated form returning to punish Ganu for his wrong doings. Who knows?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he does
@kennyofield:
ReplyDeleteYes, Hud is short for Hudson, but remember that we are dealing with JJ Abrams here. There is always a hidden or double meaning to anything that he does. So even though you're right in saying that Hud is short for Hudson, it is also right to say that it's a play on words, and that "Hud" is a reference to "Heads-up Display", since we are seeing the movie from his point of view.
Yeah. Fluffy, I totally agree it sounds like a monster whale...WTF?
