Update:What do they mean by "altercation", and why is there no mention of the station "disappearing". It the tail wagging the dog here? Is eco-terror cell Tidowave the cause of the problem, or the daylight exposing Tagruato's troubles?
There has been an altercation at the Chaui Station. Although details are limited at present time, be assured that Tagruato is taking every measure necessary to ensure the safety and well being of all staff and crew. Specialty teams have been deployed, and are working aggressively to restore harmony at the site.
The cause of the problem is currently being investigated, although it is suspected that an eco-terror cell is responsible for the disturbance.
We have top investigators on our side. Everything will be resolved shortly, and all problems will be fixed. If you have any questions, please contact us at +81-3-5403-6318 for further instructions.
Hatsui Satellite Works for the FuturaVisions of success for Tagruato's Bold Futura subsidiary are no longer limited by gravity. In its first month orbiting Earth, the satellite "Hatsui" has been at peak performance—busily collecting data and securing samples. The satellite signals the first effort by Futura's space program, and is heralded company-wide as a huge success. Images taken by it's cutting edge TagFutura KrystaLens were described by CEO Ganu Yoshida as, "a revelation in imagery." Grinning big, he added, "This equipment will open eyes to worlds never before imagined. It is a bright, united future for all of us." And he meant it. In their latest gesture to reach out to fellow man, Tagruato used the Hatsui satellite to try to identify a rogue piece that is thought to have fallen off of the Japanese Government's "ChimpanzIII" satellite. Although Hatsui’s work has not yet been able to confirm the identity of the fallen piece, Tagruato scientists and engineers are busily trying to track and recover the fragment. According to Hatsui data, it disappeared into the Atlantic Ocean late last week.
Bold Futura's Head Aeronautical Engineer Wada Arinori proudly touted the watchdog effort as the first of many. Hunched happily over a computer, he beamed, "In my 11 years for Tagruato, I see us grow in power, and also in caring. Such teamwork effort is huge stride."
Future plans for the Bold Futura space program are still under wraps. Although with the success of Hatsui and ample funds dedicated to development and galactic research, it is certain to be big. Added Yoshida, "Our first step into space was a triumphant one. Our next will be unforgettable."
Falling piece of satellite? Could it be something else falling from the sky? Could this have been what took out the Chuai station, as reported by Tidowave?
* Thanks to Menachem for emailng me about his first!
"ChimpanzIII" Remember The Ending To The Slusho! Video? The Chimp With The Flag.....Interesting...
ReplyDeleteI have been suspecting this all along but I didn't want to say it yet... WHAT IF THE MONSTER IS NOT FROM EARTH??? What if the viral marketingpeople have been misleading us all along to make us believe the monster is from earth? lol.... I thought it was an alien for a while since the tag line is "Some thing has found us" OH MY GOD!!! and plus I was wondering how the satellite was going to play into the story ever since the story was put on tagruato about it's launch... any ideas anyone?
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember something being said (several months ago) about the monster being from outerspace (or some word like that)..
ReplyDeletePersonally I will love if its not from Earth. I always love alien movies, but if its true. How would they explain that in the movie?
ReplyDeleteBut then again Im all into the deep see nectar stuff...unless the alien thing drinks that and bam we get some weird alien earth monster thing.
I was hoping the monster (Slusho?) would be from Earth, as it floating around space and then falling to us seems odd--but this fallen piece of satellite is a major development!
ReplyDeleteI live in NYC, but sadly will be watching this thing in San Fran on the 18th. Shame, would have been fun to watch it in the city and then walk around wearing my Slusho parafanalia!
I've Offically Lost My Mind!!

how do you call that number? what does the + sign mean? When i call it all i get is an invalid number message.
ReplyDeleteAn alien, that would be ripe. I had wondered all along if all these clues and digging were going to end up being for not and totally unrelated to the story (just something to keep us busy). Wouldnt that be a hoot if all the Tagruato, Slusho and everything else ended up not having anything more to do with this other then a giant alien landed on one of thier drilling sites before it swims in to Manhattan.
ReplyDeleteThis is really weird...for example, on the website, scroll down to the bottom to Sitemap or Privacy and Legal. Click there...Nothing happens....thought you all should know...
ReplyDeleteBesides the fact. Tagruato is doing quite a bit to cover up the Chuai station incident...
I have a feeling that TheWhistleBlower works inside the heart of Tagruato...I think he's Toshiro Ichigawa....
Sorry for the double...I am referring to the Tagruato website...
ReplyDelete"Our first step into space was a triumphant one. Our next will be unforgettable."
ReplyDeleteI bet it will!
My guess is that Seabed's Nectar is the TRUE "monster" of the movie, and IT'S from space. Mr. Grumpypants is just a natural Earthling animal that's been affected by it (maybe even CONTROLLED?)
If anyone's ever played the Metroid Prime games, there was a similar concept: Phazon was a collectively conscious "space goo" that impacted planets as meteors, took over a large local predator, mutated it into a Phazon-producing super-organism (usually capable of producing smaller drones), and assimilated the entire ecosystem.
I wonder if a similar premise is at work here. The "Monster" of the movie is merely the puppet that the extraterrestrial Seabed's Nectar uses to spread itself.
Wow....That's A Very Good Concept Idea.
ReplyDeletemastah wrote: "Seabed's Nectar is the TRUE 'monster' of the movie, and IT'S from space."
ReplyDeleteDoesn't make sense with the timeline of the movie. The satellite accident has happened just a week ago in the movie timeline, but Slusho containing "Seabed's Nectar" has been on sale for quite awhile longer in Japan.
I also think it would be too cynical for this company to make food out of an alien that crash landed. The supply would seem to be limited, for one thing... If they found stuff at the bottom of the ocean that's edible, that makes a lot more sense. The evil in that case would be that they didn't test it sufficiently out of eagerness to make money, which is a more understandable evil than secretly feeding people extracted goo from a meteor without having any idea what it is.

ReplyDeleteIt's an international call, so in the US, you need to dial 011 first, then the country code 81, and the rest is the phone number 3-5403-6318
so: 011-81-3-5403-6318
I don't think that the SN came from the satellite. I think that the satellite crash attracted the monster to the surface, hence the two blips on the sonar images.
ReplyDeleteTag, using Chuai to track the monster (having used its own satellite to track the SN deposits it's left around the word), sends out boats to study the Monster, which is disturbed by the noise of the sonar and the crash of a satellite piece.
Monster "finds us." It's been living at the ocean creating SN for ages, unaware of humanity. It "assimilates" the boats and satellite, and the SN "ET" controlling the Monster loves the knowledge and technology of humanity so much that it tracks down Chuai, and absorbs the whole thing, people and all; perhaps it wraps up the extras and sticks it to the ocean floor (like a spider wrapping up extra prey) for a later "snack."
It then spends a month or so slowly cruising towards what its newly absorbed human knowledge tells it is the largest source of life and energy nearby: NYC. During that time, it possibly slowly mutates humanoid features (bipedalism, et al) to adapt to the land environment.
It arrives at NYC, attacks a Tag tanker carrying SN (to strengthen itself after its long journey and recent mutations), and tries to absorb the Statue of Liberty. Finding it to be a "fake" human and thus having no DNA or knowledge to absorb, it angrily rips its head off and throws it into the city. It then goes on a random feeding frenzy, eventually creating spawned offspring to help it gather up all the morsels that it can't reach. The SN (inside Slusho! people are drinking) is also reactive near the Monster's presence.

ReplyDeleteWhat if...
ReplyDeleteThe satellite piece was indeed actually an alien? And then Tagruato experimented on said alien using the seabed nectar? And then said alien grew to an enormous size, became really really angry, and took out the station?
but nah...probably not :-D

It COULD be a red herring, but in the end, who cares? It will looks the same either way. Is there such thing as a red herring in a situation where we will never find out?
ReplyDeletePerhaps the Japanese found the monster in all of their drilling for the "special ingredient", incapacitated it somehow, launch it into space via satellite, and the satellite pice breaking off is really the monster escaping? Kinda far fetched, but intersting idea, methinks.
ReplyDeleteI think they are just using this rogue peice as an excuse to go searching that area of the ocean from the sateite, making it look like a good cause and in fact just hiding whatever they are really looking for.
ReplyDeletelooking for the satelite peice is just a guise.
This may be old news, but I was looking for the whole anagram theory again, and when I did "YOU CANT DRINK JUST SIX" it came out with:
ReplyDelete"A TOXIC INDUSTRY JUNKS"
Sorry if it's a repost.
Haha, Tagruato actually spelled "Chuai" wrong in the headline. They spelled it as "Chaui".
ReplyDeleteThis is probably what crashed into the ocean at the end of the movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the monster [ which i heard was suppossed to be a god ] was Cthulhu? It make's sense since at some point it was speculated that it was slightly based on h. p. lovecraft. Also, Cthulhu is immortal, apparently as the monster, it lived under water, apparently as the monster.
ReplyDeleteOne of my theories is that when the monster destroyed Chuai station and all the debris came flying up and out of the water at least one of the debris was an egg. That is what landed off the coast of Coney Island. After it landed in the water it slowly developed until a month later it came to attack or maybe feed?
ReplyDeletesaw the movie last night, my theory is that something off the satellite created/mutated the creature(s), ie: Radioactive Nuclear Reactor payload, or maybe some scientific biological experiment that they were working on in the confines of space...maybe an experiment on viruses or something... the result of a bite from a smaller creature is bleeding from the eyes/organs so maybe they were working on a supervirus based on the Hanta virus or some other hemmorhagic fever... my 2 cents.
ReplyDeleteI read in an article in a magazine (unfortunately I forget which one) where the director blatantly said that the monster was NOT an alien. Tagruato dropped the satellite as part of a viral marketing campaign, which somehow awakened the monster (a small fish mutated into the monster by the seabed nectar) which then attacked NYC.
