Slusho.jp has added a mobile phone section to the site, which can be reached on your cell phone at slusho.wap.com. The WAP site features wallpaper and ringtones that you can download to your phone, the Slusho history, and information on the Slusho! contest.
Actually you can visit this in your regular browser as well (IE works better than FireFox), but you won't be able to hear the ringtones.
Im beginning to wonder why slusho is pushing merchandise. Is it just a way for the studio to make an extra couple of bucks? It just seems like its become more than just clues for Cloverfield.
building it up for another project is a good theory. Slusho just seems like its become to big of its own thing for just Cloverfield. ...and so the wheels turn
Is this complicated? Slusho is owned by Tagruato, who runs deep-sea drilling operations. Slusho's secret ingredient is found on the seabed and the newest Tagruato station has no oil and is experiencing problems. Rob is putting out resumes and will get a job with Tagruato or one of the smaller companies, which is why he moves to Japan. Tagruato, in the meantime, keeps doing evil things resulting in the monster on the 18th.
Thanks Matt for the recap; I was still foggy about the basic plot points. By now, I pray that anyone who visits this site has figured out those basics. Help us if not.

THERE'S NO NEED TO YELL ;)
If I don't have a video to post, there's no story, and until I see it myself, it doesn't exist.
For as many people there are that have claimed to see it, no one has posted it up to YouTube yet. As soon as someone find this on YouTube, or it turns up on the Cloverfield MySpace/facebook pages, I'll post it up.
FWIW, I Tivo'd 4 hours of NBC and CW last night and didn't see the new commecial. I did see 2 different Cloverfield commercials, but they were ones we have already seen.
I've also heard it was shown during Family Guy, so I'll try Fox and MTV tonight as well as NBC and ABC.
This is my first post here although I've been following the ARG since before the Transformers trailer (was clued in by a friend in the media who knew Abrams was up to something huge) and it's been a great, fun ride ever since!
I can confirm the existence of a tv commercial that is slightly different than the trailers we know about so far. I saw it on NBC on Christmas night. I went looking for discussion of it, or a post of the footage, but so far no one seems to have noticed the new information it contained.
I only saw it once so I can't be 100% certain, but I remember:
1. Additional imagery from inside the hazmat/triage tent,
2. The soldier's face is blurry again, and I SWEAR I heard a female voice-over say something like "did you see that?" at roughly the same time,
3. Someone, perhaps Rob, is describing "the sky on fire."
4. The text at the end says "JANUARY 18"
It was all very fast, of course, and I was so excited I know I'm forgetting much of it. But I guarantee, it's out there.
Im sorry for the caps LOL Im just super excited and it is crazy that we cant find this thing with all the times it is being shown. This blows my mind but I know someone will have it on youtube soon. I think we just more awareness out there about the new comercial or people wont really push hard to find it and from what I hear (I only caught the end of it) it is awesome. So lets cross our fingers that someone finds it soon.
Exactly. It's crazy to think people have been obsessing this hard for this long and now here when we are 21 days from the release, we let up on it ya know? I def dont want to know too much before seeing this in the theater but at the same time, if J.J. wants people to see it on a tv spot to get them even more pumped for the movie, im okay with seeing it because I know hes still not going to give away too much and it can only enhance the excitement I have for this movie.
This discussion is a perfect example. It's pointless to say, hey, here's something new...and get no response, so I think i will join new age and say thanks for the ride, but I gots to go.....bye bye
I'll assume c lover is joking. Or had too much coffee this morning. Otherwise I'm not sure which part of my comment was stupid or a lie. Just trying to help confirm the awareness of a commercial some of us have not seen yet.
grebs: Sorry, that's not it. That's one of them, but not the one I saw. It was aired on 12/25 during a Law and Order episode. Maybe 9:30pm or so. I think it starts with the Rob soliloquy ("if you're watching this..." etc.) but it definitely includes (brief snippets of) footage I've never seen online before.
Sweet moses, how much more info can this unposted TV spot offer than what we've already been given? If it really did expose a "tentacle" or some other inherent piece of the plot, it would definitely be online by now. TV spots run 30 seconds at the most. Trust me, whatever it contains that differs from the others is minimal. Certainly not worth this agonizing.
If it's that important to you, then YOU need to make the effort to record & upload it.
i think we're all just as anxious for this damn thing to be out already! not that the arg isn't fun, and the tv spots aren't cool, but i can definitely see some people getting testy!
i think i'm the one who has the most to be upset about seeing as i'm leaving the states on the 16th for uk! i have a whole month delay because it doesn't come out there until february. talk about excruciating! haha.
happy new year everyone! i'm glad we can all ring it in together, cloverfield style!
tom said... This discussion is a perfect example. It's pointless to say, hey, here's something new...and get no response, so I think i will join new age and say thanks for the ride, but I gots to go.....bye bye
I'm sorry you feel that way, but I'm not really sure what you expect me to do? You already know that there *might* be a new commercial out there, so if you want to see it, watch more TV, or wait like everyone else until it is available online.
I figured I'd document everything I found in the ringtones section so ...

I'm sure someone's provided them to you, but if you haven't gotten them yet Dennis, let me know.
Oh, and since I'm being lazy and using the "Google blogger" status to post, I'm Michael from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I think I've seen a few other "Michaels" pop up, but they're not me. :)
This is only like my 3rd or 4th post on this blog anyway. I guess I should be less lazy and register to use my standard screen name for such things. He he he.
It's a shame that, as we get closer to the film's release date, people are beginning to act like little aggrivated children.
If anything, we should be celebrating, not pulling at each other's hair because of a new TV spot that's supposedly out there. If it is, then that's great, we'll get it on YouTube soon enough. If it's not, don't cry bloody murder and wait for some new footage that will most likely surface before the 18th.
I've been waiting for this movie since the 3rd of July like many others, but instead of going bat shit physco, I keep telling myself, "Hey, it ain't coming out 'till the 18th, deal with it, and just go along with the ride until then."
And damn, Dennis is doing the best he can to keep us updated, he won't have everything at the tip of his fingers when we expect and want it.
Sorry for the rant, but these big arguments over nothing have seriously gotten to me over the last week.
The new ad was on FOX two nights ago after The Simpsons. That's when I saw it. It's TIVOed, so I'm probably going to put it on YouTube. Here's what was in it:

In case people haven't figured it out yet, the Slusho website is designed to give you clues to CLOVERFIELD aparently, the ingredient in Slusho, mutates a whale into the monster. (btw the whale lice get mutated too, they are 6 feet tall) there is some liquid that is related to the monster somehow that mutates inside the stomach of humans after being ingested. Whatever it is, it is alive and bursts out of the stomach, this is similar to the alien chestbursters in the Alien movies. Also there is a possibility that there will be another whale monster that is even worse. there are plenty of clues in the website. look at every part of the site and you will figure out tons of things about the movie.
Im beginning to wonder why slusho is pushing merchandise. Is it just a way for the studio to make an extra couple of bucks? It just seems like its become more than just clues for Cloverfield.
