Spoiler Free Zone

With less than a month to go until the release of Cloverfield, there is a growing concern that too much info will be revealed before the movie is released. There have been some alleged movie reviews around, and you may have noticed that I have not reported on them. I don't want Cloverfield to be "spoiled" for myself, or for anyone else, so I want to declare CloverfieldClues a spoiler-free zone.

I will not report on any "leaked" information about the movie or the monster.

I want everyone visiting my site to feel safe that they can still keep up with the latest movie news and "game" developments, and not have worry about spoilers.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here or email me.

  1. Thank you very much. I was starting to feel out of the loop because of the very concern you just cited (and addressed). I didn't even watch that clip I was so worried about spoilers! Thanks, Dennis!

  2. Well, this is great news. I was going to refrain from visiting anything involving Cloverfield once it hit the week before actual release, so it's great to know I can still visit here until the day it's out.

  3. Yeah, thanks Dennis.

Very reassuring to know that if Cloverfield detailed review is put up in Jan I wont be linked to the review...I want Cloverfield to be a great movie not a movie I know all about!

  4. I highly appreciate cloverfield clues being a spoiler free zone, sometimes i like to know all about the movie but then again i don't want to. Wise choice in doing this, helps everyone still keep that anticipation growing and growing until launch day. The only site i will visit is this one from now on :)

  10. I think this is great, but just to be sure, this new system wont interfere with the reporting of the viral marketing campaign right? Cause this is kind of the only place i get my information. After all, it is the best

Correct. Officially released info will be reported - which includes all online stuff, interview, any news trailers, commercials, etc.

However, if JJ Abrams walked up to me and handed me a picture of the monster, I won't post it here (until after 1-18-08). I am also not going to cover any movie "reviews" until after 1-18-08. All bets are off come 1-19-08. (sorry rest of the world)

I *wish* I had Klampenborg font! I had to do that in photoshop. :(

  16. Thanks very much Dennis, I was really worried that websites would reveal too much come January (I was gearing up for a movie media black out!)

PS, please respect the fact that America gets this movie first though, I am UK based and have to wait a bit longer... Thus an increased fear of spoilers hangs over me like a giant monster claw...

  17. Thank you Dennis, it's the best way to manage the whole spoilers - to ignore them. I'm doing it also.

Let's enjoy the last weeks before 01-18-08. And hope, ARG will be continued also after movie starts.

    regards,

    Amitiés,

    Jacques

I translated your comment with Google, but I don't understand what you are trying to say. Sorry.

Let's please not discuss spoilers here :) If you want to email me, I'll tell you where I saw something.

As mentioned in the post, there are some "reviews" of the movie that are floating around, which may or may not contain specific plot points, fate of the characters, the ending, etc. These are the thing I'd like to avoid.

  23. Great Idea, but something tells me that before this movie comes out I'm going to be watching E!, CNN, or the local Entertainment news and before I can even switch the channel the monster will flash up on the screen. SPOILED!

It's going to happen no matter what. I hoping it doens't but chances are very slim.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thank God! I don't want to go see the movie and know what's going to happen in every scene...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks so much Dennis. I was wondering when the cut off point would be for me so I wouldn't get any spoilers and it looks like you've managed to stop that happening.

But just wondering, when will you post info on the monster? Assuming most of the members see it on 1-18-08, will that be when spoiler discussion begins? You see, the thing is - for those of us in countries where the film doesn't come out for a few weeks after the 18th, will we just have to avoid this site?

  26. Enviter les spoilers, pourquoi pas?

    (Invite?) spoilers, why not?

Parce que nous avons regarder le film! Nous n'aimez jamias regarder le film avant le film (is released.).

  27. Thankyou for the ban! I've so far remained spoiler-free, and would really like to remain so. Like other non-US nationals, I'll probably have to avoid the site for a couple of weeks after the US release, but it can't be helped. I'm not about to complain about fans discussing the film after the official release date!

    Thankyou again for the ban!!

  28. Can you believe the monster is really Luke Skywalker's father?

Also, I am having severe flashbacks to July of this year.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm going to go dark after 1-18-08. I don't want any of this movie being spoilefd, especially since I'm in the UK, and I won't get to see it for a few weeks :'(

Either way, I'm going to steer clear of Cloverfield websites completely after it's released , I reckon :)

  30. It would be nice if you didn't discuss spoilers on a just-pronounced spoiler free site.

  31. atalaya is not posting spoilers, the review he/she is talking about is total bullshit, it describes a proper nasty violent horror action film and this PG-13 movie is not going to be that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Atalaya said... Hey, I actually just read the massive spoiler review, and and I do think it's possibly fake...

Please don't discuss spoilers here, even if you think they are fake, because you could be wrong....
