  3. Guys... This is probably a different monster. Maybe the "mom", which wold explain the lack of tail, as perhaps the females of his species have none.

  5. actually it does have a tail, its just hard to see at times but you can see it alot during the part where the army attacks it. wow now this is getting intense! and im really thinking that symbol with the sword and swirl is the symbol of the cult in the manga. ending was very strange, but cant wait for the rest!!

  6. The guy that was standing on it apparently controls the monster. Here's what I'm theorizing: When that kid was young, his father was working for Tagruato or something, and when they found the monster, they had him research it, which ended up having him create some device based on the creature's DNA that enables a person to control it. The problem was that it needed a human host, so he affiliates his kid with this device, and the result is that he has the monster at his disposal every moment of his living existence. So, when daddy pulls a kamekazi act, his son goes nuts now that he knows he can control the beast and becomes a psychotic god.

    Cute.

  8. Okay... so I was back on the tagruato website and I was re-reading:

A Day In The Life of a YMR Doctor

    By Dr. Hiro Takahashi

Has anyone translated the comic yet??? Is this the name of the scientist in the comic???

  9. Notice the guy smiling while the parasite is eating him. He has the face of a person who's about to burst from joy and happiness.

  10. Haha I love the parasite guy. "What's wrong guys, why are you looking at me strangely?"

I reckon maybe the monster looks bigger because the city here is smaller than New York, and the buildings aren't so tall. Also, it's a manga not a movie. The artist is trying to get the point across that this thing is really, really, really big. It's hard to do on paper so I guess they exaggerate a little.

And in true manga style, the plot has just completely gone off into some kind of crazy jumble of insane things happening all at once. I love it.

  11. (sorry if this is a double post, my login is being moody)

I would say that the sword symbol that has been showing up lately is connected to the clovie worshipping (as has been pointed out with the masks) cult...it seems pretty obvious since the swirl on the symbol is worn on their bracelets (not to mention the ceremonial sword). I think it's safe to assume that the guy who rescued Aiba was indeed his father who was probably planning on using the monster as a weapon (why else bother to develope a way to link your son's mind to the creature?) and it seems to work since I doubt clovie would let Aiba ride on his head otherwise...

Now for a bit of wild speculation. Perhaps this cult is Tidowave? The sword symbol and number on the back of the Teddy Hanssen picture seem to link the missing Tido member to the cult (perhaps he was the 430th to join?). It's a shaky link, I know, but it's something.

Also, as a side note to the creatures age. It was said that it has been living at the bottom of the ocean for thousands of years and whether or not to take the idea of it as a baby literally or figuratively. I can't if it is or isn't a baby...but to the people who think being 1000 means it can't be a baby...have you ever had a pet? Think about how a dog or cat's age is computed differently than ours...if clovie could live to be a hundred thousand years old (give or take a few tens of thousands lol) then wouldn't still be in it's infantile stages of development at the age of 1000? Just an idea...
