TidoWave - No Help Coming

TidoWave.com MissingTeddyHanssen CloverfieldThere is a ominous new message posted on Tidowave.com:

To MissingTeddyHanssen.

There’s no help coming. Stop your campaign.

There’s nothing here.

Is this the work of Tagruato? Have they finally defeated their enemy?

Also, is there a MissingTeddyHanssen campaign we don't know about? There was a comment in the previous blog post from someone named MissingTeddyHanssen:
Where are these “fearless, brave warriors” I heard about? No one answers my calls. No one answers their doors. My brother is still out there somewhere and you guys couldn’t care less about him. Some friends you are. If it wasn’t for your freakish, cult mind-games he’d still be here with me. This is all your fault!!! You cowards! I hope you’re all rotting away somewhere!
The comments have generally been considered OOG, because they appear to be user-submitted. Could this be an exception?

* Thanks to Lew for emailing me about this!

  2. It's not a comment, it's a blog post. The TidoWave comments are OOG.

  3. no no, i meant the comment on the january 17th blog post by the user missingteddyhanssen. that's who this blog post is directed to.

  4. No but the comment that was on the blog post before this, it was by a "MissingTeddyHanssen." It claimed that teddy was his/her brother and the the person was demanding to know where teddy was. So THAT comment was In game??

  5. Apparently.

And there's new Happy Talk on Slusho!.

  6. My mistake... must have missed those....

  7. There is a TeddyHanssen.com...maybe its comming soon perhaps after the 22 when the movie comes out along with the cloverfieldfiles.com.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Brother? You guys think he's talking about Kishin? And the freakish-cult members thing, is that TIDOwave? This obviously has some connection to the manga itself, especially the third chapter. We last saw Kishin atop of the Cloverfield monster -- and the manga takes place BEFORE the events of the Cloverfield movie.

  9. Why were all the other TIDO blog posts removed for this?

And could M.T.H. be the "Randy" that Teddy mentioned in his tape to Jamie?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I really think we may have missed something along the way....

    ReplyDelete
  11. The events in Cloverfield are supposed to happen in May right? So maybe the ARG is starting again.. to fill in more details about the monster and where it came from?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Maybe the campaign has something to do with the www.findteddyhanssen.com page?

  13. Do yall think that this viral stuff is gonna stop when the DVD is released or is it going to keep going? I know on the DVD it says "secret files" or whatever, but that could just be the answer to all this mystery.

By the way, LEAVE CLOVERFIELD ALONE!

I was gonna reference CloverfieldClues in the video but I wasn't sure if Dennis would like that too much. :p

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, I would suspect they are gonna keep on going with it as long as possible (until a sequel/spin off/etc.) is released. Maybe they are just seeing how much popularity in the movie is still around.

Saw an IMDB page saying it's about Cloverfield 2. Though I'll believe it when it's announced :P

  15. This looks pretty legit. But I still don't understand why the viral marketers would use the same exact picture of Teddy for different sites.

Not only that, but the recorded message of Teddy plays a minute after you visit the site.

  16. Went to the http://www.findteddyhanssen.com/
site and flipped the picture over. After a few seconds a recording comes on.
I Like this blog. Now I gotta see the movie.

  17. Hey...I wonder if there's some new site about finding Taddy Hanssen. Anyone find anything?

    [/sarcasm]

    ReplyDelete
  18. that's weird on findteddyhanssen.com the recording is for jamie..and i think he's talking about the monster.. then he gets interrupted!

    ReplyDelete
  19. the recording is from JamieandTeddy.com

it's the recording that Jamie hears when she finds a tape recorder in the blue gift when she finally opened it on December 9.

so, I still think that the site is a fake.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ josh craig

He doesn't get interrupted. Jamie just stops playing the recording message and then starts talking about how she believes Teddy is cheating on her. It was on one of the Jamie and Teddy videos. Speaking of which, the Jamie and Teddy site has been dead for a while. Anyone think it'll come back up? It's possible, I mean if the TIDOwave site was mysteriously ressurected, then I'm sure the same will happen to the other ARG Cloverfield websites.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Eh. I think the fth.com site is fake. When you view the page source, it refers to: http://home.windstream.net/dacevedo/th/

I can't get the dacevedo page or even the windstream.net page to load, but the site's title bar claims to be a site for personal home pages.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He gets interrupted because the sound file is taken straight from the Jamieandteddy.com video. He's interrupted when Jamie shuts off the tape.

    I wanna hear the rest....

    stupid jamie

No. one thing we can all understand from the movie and the comics is that the Japan attack happened after the New York attack. Rob would not be moving to a country that was recently destroyed by a huge monster. It is obvious the first place this beast attacked was New York...

    ReplyDelete
  24. @ "me"

That makes a lot of sense...the Japan attack pretty much HAS to be after the NY attack, doesn't it? There's no way people would be wondering what was destroying the city if it had already happened in Japan. Good point, sir.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, I specifically remember some official PR from Bad Robot or Paramount saying that Cloverfield Kishin was a prequel to the movie. And besides, wouldn't it be a dead giveaway to all of the fans everywhere that the monster is still alive, just by saying that the events of Cloverfield Kishin take place after the events of the movie?

Cloverfield Kishin takes place before the events of the movie itself. How it leads up to it I don't know. But that's why the manga is here, to give us more insight into why the monster attacked NYC. Besides, remember the first chapter where Tagruato ships were hauling the monster out from the depths of the ocean? Yep, obviously got TIDOwave's attention there.

    ReplyDelete
  26. dang, this rekindling of the rad ARG is so freakin' awesome! I am STOKED to see where all of this goes! And good call on the new york attack being the first one... that's all that makes any sense.

  27. me said..."No. one thing we can all understand from the movie and the comics is that the Japan attack happened after the New York attack. Rob would not be moving to a country that was recently destroyed by a huge monster. It is obvious the first place this beast attacked was New York..."

Excellent point "me", so if this monster attacked Japan after the New York attack, does that mean that the monster survived, which brings up the whole backwards sound clip "It's still alive" (who to me, sounds like Rob) at the end of the credits. Or does it mean that its the mother of the monster since they guy said that its only a frighten baby when it attacked New York, and the thing looks a lot beefier in the comics then the movie, but that could just be the art style. Hey, maybe the comic could be the story for the sequel or it could be the prolog for the sequel. This is sooo exciting! I love that all the hype is coming back and there's more clues and mysteries everywhere on the web! Keep up the good work Dennis=D

  28. Blacksite09 i knew that..lol i didn't realize it was the same thing from jamie and teddy's site. I Thought it was a new recording..my mistake!

    ReplyDelete
  29. ok so what if missingteddyhanssen is the one behind the sword symbol thingy and thats part of his campain and he put it up on all the sites somehow connected to teddy like jamie's, tag's, slusho b/c its related to tag, nd tido b/c he works for it??? the last one was just seculation

    ReplyDelete
  30. Do we know for sure that the attack in the manga is on Japan? Could it be an island somewhere and they were able to cover the incident up?

No. once again, there was no official press release from bad robot saying the manga was a prequel. the manga is also exclusive to japan, but in no way is it a prequel. you can check this site to the very first posting of the manga and there is no press release that it is a prequel.

Now, as for tagruato holding the monster in chains in the comic, I'm sure we will find out more about that in the next two mangas, but in the manga there is a scene where the bullies are watching the news report on their phones of the monster heading towards japan. the world would have known about the monster by then because of the New York attack and the Japanese people in the comic would have been portrayed in a bigger panic if Japan was the original place the monster attacked. And to use this argument again, Rob WOULD NOT be headed to a country that was just attacked by a 250 foot monster! LMAO!

The New York attack has to be the first place that was attacked because Teddy Hanssen and the news reports all lead to Chuai Station as some origin of this situation. Please review all the details before making such speculation.

  32. @ dustin

That seems pretty likely. But then again, if Teddy is missing then how would he be leaving that message on TIDOwave and hacking the ARG sites with the Slusho sword logo? That's weird, though. No word from Randy or anyone else from TIDOwave except for that ominous message.

Maybe TIDOwave isn't what it looks like. Either that or some mercs from Tagruato took over TIDOwave and they were the ones who possibly left that message on the site. Think about it, we haven't heard from TIDOwave since the 17th of January. So why now? I don't think it'd be Randy who left that mysterious message on the site.

The ARG just keeps getting stranger...

    i wouldn't call findteddyhanssen.com fake -i'd say it's fan art :))

  34. Ok, I really think that the magna is a prequel to the movie! I found a bunch of info on Kishin on www.Wikipedia.com. Here's one thing

"The story focuses on a Japanese high school student named Kishin Aiba, who somehow bears a connection to the monster, and will serve as a prequel to the film." Here’s the URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield
Just look for "Merchandise" under the "Contents"

    Here’s another thing i found.
"The story centers around two teenagers, Kishin Aiba and Aiko Sasahara, struggling to learn more about an incident in what may seem to be the events before The Chuai incident all the while being under siege of the monster itself before its untimely attack in New York City." The URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield:_Kishin

Ok, this seems to bring more confusion, but i don't know where Wiki got their info, so it could just be a
    guess.

Ok "me" What do you have to say to that? I know that you said why would Rob go to Japan if he knew about the monster attack, but what if he didn't know. What if Tagruato somehow covered the whole incident up. They could have the power to do that. Or what like "RJ" said... "Could it be an island somewhere and they were able to cover the incident up?"

Lets just hope that the translation will clear things up. When is that coming out anyway?

  35. fluffy... i had a great comeback argument for the previous post but unfortunately it was not approved. I didn't get rude or anything... I guess it was just a bit too long for talkback standards... but I know I had some great points... but oh well... I guess I'll never win this argument...

believe what you want people, but after extensive examination of all the clues we have, I come to the conclusion that Kishin is leading to the sequel not the prequel...

  36. Folks, keep in mind that both IMDB and Wikipedia are user-editable sources of information. As such, they should not be considered 100% reliable. Any one can go in there and create/edit a page. Heck, I could even go in there right now and edit a Cloverfield 2 page to say that it will star Britney Spears, Sean Penn, and Michael J. Fox as the voice of the monster...and that bad info will stay up until someone else fixes it.

My point is saying you saw it in Wiki (or IMDB in the case of movies in production) is only slightly better than saying you heard it from a friend of a friend.
