CloverfieldClues DVD Contest

Paramount has provided me with three Cloverfield DVDs (and some other cool stuff!) to give away to readers of CloverfieldClues, so I have created a fun contest! There are three ways for you to enter:

1. KISHIN CAPTION CONTEST
I have taken a bunch of the Cloverfield Kishin manga pages, and blanked out the text. Pick one you like and add your own text. Be creative! It doesn't even have to be about Cloverfield... but, it should be funny, and it MUST be family friendly. (%#$@! is your friend). You can submit more than one if you like, or even stitch more than one page together. I'll post all the entries in my contest Picasa album. Check out my sample on the left to get an idea of what I'm looking for. Email your entries to caption@cloverfieldclues.com.

2. CLOVERFIELD CLUE HUNT
Everyday (or more often!) I will post a new Cloverfield screen shot on the right. Somewhere hidden in the photo will be the secret "word of the day". How and where the secret word is hidden will change. This will give you a chance to brush up on your mad ARG skillz! Each correct answer will get you another entry. Email the correct answer to cluehunt@cloverfieldclues.com.

3. JUST GIMME A DANG DVD ALREADY!
This is the easiest and least fun way to enter. Just send a email to giveaway@cloverfieldclues.com. One entry per person please.

RULES: One winner will be chosen from each method of entry. You can enter all three ways to increase your odds, but you can win only once. You must have all your entries in by April 19 at 11:59 PM EDT (GMT -4:00). I will announce the winners on Monday, April 21, but I won't be able to send out the DVDs until the release date. If you have any other contest related questions, please leave them in the comments section. Thank you and good luck!

  2. Is it even worth trying if I live in Russia? :) I mean, will you go to the trouble of sending it here if I try hard enough to win? :)

  3. Hey, Dennis! I just want to ask you if I CAN still be able to join your contests even if I do not live there in the U.S. ... actually it's my first time to comment here on your blog and I check here very often but I live in a different country ... is that still possible? Thanks in advance and more power to your powerful blog and 'ARG skillz' if you call it !!!!!!! Hahahaha!

  5. Where are the blank Manga pages or do we have to make them ourselves?

Also, in the hidden clue contest, can the words include words on books? I don't think so but i just wanted to ask.

  6. Should the hidden word be visible at the psted image size?

  7. I have added the link to the blank pages. oops.

As far as non-US residents entering: Since I'm paying for the shipping out of my own pocket, I was going to limit it to US only... but if you are willing to pay for the difference in shipping charges, you are welcome to enter. However, the DVD is region 1 only.

If you don't want the DVD, you can still enter the Kishin caption contest and be declared the winner, just let me know, and I'll give the DVD to second place.

No. You will need to click the image to see it full size. In this case, full size is 800 x 533.

I'll contact the winners when the contest ends, but I guess if you send your address with your entry, you'll get your DVD faster :)

I probably should have mentioned this sooner, but all entry information, including email and postal addresses will be kept strictly confidential. I will not give your information to any third party.

I assure you there is a hidden word, that i typed in, hidden somewhere. So far, 27 people have emailed me the correct answer. Keep looking!

Also, a new photo will be available soon. maybe you'll have better luck with the next one!

Jason said... will you e-mail us back to let us know if the "hidden word" in the picture is correct?

I don't have time to email everyone back regarding their entries. It should be pretty obvious when you find the correct answer.

  21. Hi, man! So, i read all your blog and i would like to thank you because now i know more than i knew when i saw the movie :) Your blog is amazing.

Well, i don´t remember to read this thing that i´ll tell you. Here in Brazil, in a Orkut community, some guys are saying that Teddy Hassen appears in the movie. They say that you can see him from 0:27:40 to 0:27:47. Here is the link to see a picture:

  22. For those of us who're just going to BUY the DVD, but would still like to know the secret word, could you maybe post the answer later? I'm probably not alone in not entering the competition, but still wanting to know the answer (since I can't find it).

  24. Dennis, in the word of the day picture, is the word just something that you outright typed and just put somewhere or is it like sort of blending into it's surroundings with like some sort of text effects or blurring etc? I saw something but i wasn't sure if it was a hidden word or just a wrinkle on the bed. Other than that, there's the words on the books but they're practically illegible.

  25. For the picture is it an actual word we are looking for or is it one of those things where symbols (like something a character is doing) represent something and we have to figure it out?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Is picture #2 like picture #1, is the word typed in somewhere? "Think outside the box" can mean lots of things.

  27. Jason said... Is picture #2 like picture #1, is the word typed in somewhere? "Think outside the box" can mean lots of things.

"Think outside the box" means that it probably not typed in somewhere like picture #1

    ReplyDelete
  28. But it is still an actual word we are looking for right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, and it should always be pretty obvious when you find it. Guessing probably won't work.

I've already received a handful of correct answers, so it's not impossible.

Don't worry if you can't find it... there's always tomorrow :)

  30. Dennis, about the Kishin Competition. Can we enlarge the speech Bubble/put the test below the panel? I'm having trouble fitting mine in.
