Tagruato - Ganu Attacked by TidoWave

There is a new headline on Tagruato.jp:
Ganu Fights Off Attackers
Tagruato is proud to report that Ganu Yoshida, sustaining no injuries from his recent attack, is continuing his trip as scheduled. "They tried to hold down my hands," smiled Yoshida at today's BevVo press conference, "But I can still point to the stars."

Yoshida was ambushed yesterday afternoon by a radical gang as he left a important restaurant. The group was barely able to restrain Yoshida and pour a liquid over his head before Yoshida fought back, scattering the gang in all directions. Tagruato security officials believe these may be the same attackers who caused the Chuai Station incident weeks prior.

Yoshida remains in high spirits despite the incident and assures his loyalists that the stunt will not affect Slusho!'s assimilation into America. "I should really thank the criminals, " chuckled Yoshida, "Because of them, I had to postpone a meeting. Now I can extend my stay in New York. I look forward to seeing more of this wonderful city."

When asked if he feared further attacks from the radicals, who reportedly escaped after running from Yoshida's power, he responded, "No. I have nothing more to worry about from them."

  1. This isn't making too much sense to me since I thought this ARG would have been wrapped up last night since that's when the movie took place but now I'm just confused as to what they're doing with this.

  2. What in God's name is going on?

I got my tickets for the 8:30pm show tonight! CAN'T WAIT!!!

  3. BS!!!! The dates on 1-18-08.com don't match the date Rob says at the end of the movie. Cloverfield takes place in March.... the party was in ... January?

  4. Any significance to the date "10 September 1969"?
It's in the movie (in text, corner of frame, very end, very small), most I can find is a nuclear test at Rulison, Colorado. Could be unrelated.

  5. 1 18 08 is only the release date.

  6. Ganu is so dead! He's going to regret postponing that meeting when he realizes that Clover it eating the city!

  7. As has been said, cloverfield does not take place today.

  8. Lamery. Tidowave has really set it's sights low after it (according to tagruato) destroyed a multi-billion dollar oil rig.

  9. The nuclear test could have been significant, but it was in Colorado... hmm.

This is all so cryptic but it Has to be all answered because the Lost ARG was...

  10. Wow JJ is one brilliant man..Cloverfield isnt done, even if the movie has already come out, if the attack takes place in March, that means that this will keep going on until March?? Untill we all know what
    "Cloverfield" actually is..

  11. Attack on march, why? So why the date on photos from 1.18.08.com is 1.18.08

    ReplyDelete
  12. No I don't think you understand what I'm saying.... the dates stamped on the photos at 1-18-08.com indicate the party we see in the movie is in fact in january when in the flick it says it takes place in march. Rob never mentions who exactly he's working for either making the whole thing seem like BS!!!! Too loosely tied together. What a sham!?!?

  13. Yeah, Tagruato... That makes sense. The same guys who "pour a liquid on your head" must be responsible for blowing up the world's largest oil rig.

  14. Matt warned us that the photos weren't something to go by, so the people acting shocked about this are kind of funny.

  15. Maybe the creators realised, after posting the pictures, that the film taking place in January would make it hard for them to have people running around outside without winter gear on.

I'm going to call it an "oops."

  16. After seeing the movie, I'm starting to wonder if the person who said all of this Slusho/Tagruato/TIDO stuff is advertising a completely different movie. Maybe they saw how many people were excited by that Cloverfield trailer and decided to divert some of the rabid interest to a totally different project they're working on.

  18. srhelmick, read what Rod says on his Myspace blog, "So I got a job offer, ...The job is the V.P. of Marketing and Promotions for SLUSHO! brand "happy drink.""

  19. TIDO had no part of this.

It's PR to make Ganu look good while TIDO is regrouping

  20. pinkhamster: the trailer shows a scene from the movie with the capsized Tagruato tanker. There are several shots of Hawk[?] wearing a Slusho! shirt at the going away party.

The photos on 01-18-08.com are clues for the ARG [and I'm so glad it's not over XD], but I suppose you could try to explain them by saying that that was Rob's original going away party, and for some reason his leaving was delayed until May.

  21. That liquid TIDO poured on Ganu's head might really be some kind of pheromone type thing meant to attract the monster.

  22. ***SPOILER

(since the movie has been released,I assume this is okay to discuss this)

Well, I for one don't think the ARG will end, at least not right away. I don't want to spoil the fun, but there's AT LEAST one person with a plausible case for not being dead in the movie, and they may continue their myspace. I sure hope so, and I know CClues will keep us up to date.

I also think the movie is set up for a sequel very well,if they want it. Not sure why they wouldn't. This wasn't an art film, and a pretty good money maker I think.

  25. Could Yoshida be the monster?

I mean he had mysterious "liquid" poured on him... possibly from the sea..

And he's probably downing the Slusho ingredient..Making him larger...

His stay is extended in New York? Seems convenient.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My guess:

It sounds like the secret ingredient for the drink, slusho, has some strange affects. This guy tosses off a bunch of people? This sounds like extraordinary strength to me.

Let's not forget the Jamie vidoes which show her having a strange reaction to the secret ingredient.

The slusho website details in the history section about the secret ingredient coming from the deep see.

I suspect the deep sea drilling, which I think is to get the secret ingredient, lead to some form of mutation, perhaps of creatures in the sea, which lead to the monster. Or the discovery of the monster anyway.

Hence the attack on the platform and then the attack on NYC.

  27. does anyone else think this could be a metaphor for the monster attack!? if ganu is actually the monster, his trip to NY, the monster's attack on NY?? ambushed by the radical gang is referring to the US army attacking it. the monster scattered the army, and has an extended stay in NY is the monsters stay, hmm gets you thinking. as for the 'barely restraining him and pouring water over his head' i'm not sure, could it be something about the oil tanker and 'pouring water on its head' meaning hold it underwater?

  28. " sustaining no injuries from HIS recent attack" really sticks out now

    ReplyDelete
  29. Modest Zealot you make a good point. That could be a metaphor because the monster (spoiler!) seems to be unaffected by the the attacks of the military just as Ganu sustained no injuries from his recent attack. That's very interesting. I do hope they keep the ARG going even though the movie has come out. Although none of the websites have been updated since the movie came out and for some reason I can get into the JameandTeddy.com website. The password jilovesth doesnt work. I saw some of those videos on youtube but not all of them.

I hope they make a sequel and explain more of the back story, People will like it, especially those of us who have been keeping up with the back story

    ReplyDelete
  30. Modest Zealot does make a good point. Except, how does a monster make a post on a website? Also, the update was somewhere in the third week on January. If the whole "alternate reality" thing is in real time, as I belive it to be, then the post of the "attack" is months too early.

  31. i dont think ganu is the monster but the attack is a foreshadowing of what happens in the cloverfield world. like its said before ganu visits NY (monster goes to ny), he is attacked by the radical gang but scattered it and sustanied no injuries(the monster is attacked by the army but fails and does no damage to the monster.) the attack on him only extends his visit(the monster may survive the hammerdown and continues to wreck havoc.)
