Cloverfield Premiere Auction For Charity

Two tickets to the Cloverfield premiere, plus after party, are being auctioned for charity on eBay. Proceeds of the auction go Variety's Kids, to help special needs children.

The premiere will be held on the Paramount Pictures Studios Lot on Wed, January 16, 2008 at 7:30 PM.

Note: there are some strange rules for this auction, so make sure your read everything before placing you bid. The auction ends on Saturday, Jan 12, so get you bid in quickly!

Good Luck!

UPDATE: I received this message from the woman in charge of the auction:
I just wanted to clarify that the part about Jan. 9 is obviously a typo. We got the donation and then I had to post it right away due to the fact that the premiere is next week. I was in a hurry and typed Jan 9, which isn’t even a Monday, instead of Jan. 14th. Also, to address another question of one of your commenters, yes I treat the confidential information of our guests with the utmost care and destroy all of the information as soon as I am done with the background check. It is unfortunate that we have to do it, but the studios now require us to due to an incident that happened in 2006.

  4. Hey Dennis,

    Why does it say this:
DUE TO THE TIMING OF THIS CHARITY AUCTION, PAYMENT AND PERSONAL INFO (DOB, SSN, NAMES FOR BOTH ATTENDEES) MUST BE RECEIVED BY 12 NOON ON MONDAY, JAN. 9. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU CANNOT ADHERE TO THESE REQUIREMENTS. THANK YOU!

MONDAY JANUARY 9???? Do they mean Monday Jan 14 or Wednesday January 9?? DOB and SS#??? Thats pretty scary stuff. I hope they got some sort of proof that bidders info will be kept private and only for background checking.

    Very Very strange.

Apparently, Seabed Nectar has been approved by the American Food Association!

  6. Good one SLUSHO LIBRARIAN!
It seems like our theory that SLUSHO is safe has been confirmed. UNLESS Ganu paid off the FDA.... HAHAHA. Guess we'll wait and see! Things are getting hot with the viral marketing! The plot thickens!

  7. Seeing as the screenings are the 15th, that's some kinda "premiere". Yes, the monster(s) will be black-tie and all along with the rest of the stars but for the cash, I'd rather watch a day earlier.

  8. Even if I did live somewhere remotely close to that (at least its the same country), I wouldn't spend that much to see a movie. Granted, its seeing a movie and then going to a party with Hollywood folk, but its still alot of money to go see a movie :P

I hope the popcorn is good.

  9. This sounds like a scam. WTF do they need your SSN for?

  10. I wonder how the Seabed Nectar and Slusho, as a whole, ties in with the movie premise. I mean, other than Tagurato makes the stuff and they may have created/woken the monster, and the fact that Rob got a job with them.... they all seem to be red-herrings.
